  1. I have a 1983 944 with the space saver spare tire. The tire will no longer hold air, and I was looking for a repair or replacement. However, when I took it to a couple of the larger tire chains (Shore, NTW) they said that it requires special eqipment to dismount and repair the tire. Has anyone else run into this, and am I stuck buying a complete new tire/wheel assembly? Thanks! LS
