  1. Of course, mine happened the same time (on the d*mn weekend). So until Monday, what I did is if it the flap on the drivers side that is getting caught up, then use the key to open the top and "help" the flap. If it is the other side, use the button in the dash and have somebody help the other flap. Then I just left the down down til Monday and had topless fun for the weekend!
  2. I had the same thing happen to mine and the dealer fixed it under warranty. The two flap mechanisms on the side the fold up and down (depending on location) needed to be replaced. They are the ones at the ends of the roll bar section that "connect" cosmetically between the body and the "roll bar deck". Hope this give you some help.
  3. Looks like considerable cooling. By the way, I did a quick edit of the post (had I read more closely, I would have noticed that you were doing front brakes <_< )
  4. CO996, Yes you can "cut-out". The middle section default is filled in. Just have to cut out if you do the 3rd radiator. LOREN, do you have a part number for the lip and rivets? Is it a kit or seperate pieces. Something I can install seperately myself since the GT3 is already on? (Better question is should it have come with the GT3 front or is it a seperate piece you have to ask for?) Dell
  5. Did I do something wrong then? I just had the GT3 front put on my MY00 but do not recall anything about a front lip or expanding rivets. I guess I need to order that seperately? Is it a piece that is painted as well? Maybe a picture of it would help if anybody has that? Dell
  6. So my question is why in the world do they offer PSE on pre "matte" button cars yet do not offer the switch in gloss? Very wierd. Thanks Loren! -Dell
  7. I assume I need only 1 dash switch correct? I have seen 2 different swithes advertised (L and R). I assume that means what side of the dash do you need it for, correct? Not 1 for each muffler. Also, can you get this swithc in glossy v. matte finish? Dell
  8. The part number should be 000 044 802 05 for 02- on .....and 000 044 801 54 for 98-01. HOWEVER, the newer skirts WILL fit the 98-01 and look very good I might add. One is attached with clips (02 on) and one is attached with drilling, epoxy, etc. (98-01). I just had skirts installed and have a 00MY and reeceived the 02 on skirts. Looks great. Front bumper is a different story. You need the model year (98-01 or 02on) to match. My GT3 front is 996 505 980 02 (98-01). I am not sure about the 02on. Hope this helps. Dell
  9. Wardhog, I must of posted when you were posting. So my question was answered. Thanks for the input. Helps me out tremendously. Cheers, Dell
  10. So.....if I have the full electronics installed AND do the PSE hack, then I have 2 modes: 1. ON ALL THE TIME 2. OFF ALL THE TIME Without the hack 1. ON ALWAYS EXCEPT BETWEEN 30-45mph? 2. OFF ALL THE TIME
  11. I am getting ready to have the PSE installed and want to make sure I have this correct: Without electronics (just mufflers) = PSE on ALL the time. With electronics and the dash switch = 2 modes? 1 mode where PSE is just like above (on all the time) and 1 mode where it cuts out from 30-45mph. Is this correct? If it is correct, then there is no way you turn PSE totally off for any period of time? Sorry about the last question but I need to be able to tell the wife ALL the options (makes a marriage much happier :D. If it was up to me, it would be PSE all the time! Thanks for the clarification, Dell
  12. Thanks P. I never thought about it that way. Just "use" the LED power and ground from a nearby switch. So simple. Cheers, Dell
  13. Recently did the spoiler and OBC hack with the spoiler switch and the footwell light switch. Both hacks works great and they look great around the center console to replace dummy switches. Only problem is that when I am driving at night and have my lights on, they do not illuminate like the rest of the switches (ie., window, cab top, door lock, etc.) Can I do something to make them light up when my lights are on at night? Many thanks, Dell
  14. As did I. Just had this discussion with the wife today. Bumper Plugs for all! By the way, you never mentioned what the plate is.
  15. 1st off, what is the plate? (curious what it says). Next, the car does and should have a front plate frame. Unless you bought the car pre-owned it should have come with the front bracket (correct me if I am wrong Loren). Are you saying you DO NOT have the hardware for the plate or you do but just don't know if you should put it on? Either way I am curious about the plate :jump: Just remember, it all comes down to personal preference. The input is great from others but what you like is what matters.
  16. Good one Don. I never thought of that one even though I do the key trick sometimes. Anyway, in and out of the dealership this afternoon in a couple hours. Result...........just as Loren predicted--the handbrake switch. Driving Topless,:jump: Dell
  17. Car is at the dealership as we speak. Should know/have it fixed in the next coupe of hours. I am amazed that were able to squeze me in on a 1/2 day. We may be topless by lunch!
  18. Fuse checks out. As does all the rest of the fuses :D Guess it is time to run by the dealer. Darnit, I hate that place. Any late minute advice before I venture to places unknown?
  19. To the best of my knowledge they didn't. But then again, who knows what goes on in the shop :o I will go check the fuse right now. Could the battery have anything to do with it? (i.e., missed a step of some sort when disconnecting the battery). Be right back. Thank Loren. Dell
  20. Just got my car back from the body shop (local dealer authorized) from getting the aero kit installed and on the way home I decided to drop the top and enjoy the great weather out here in LV. HOWEVER.......the top does not go down. Here is the scenario. Key in ignition, all lights light up including PARK.....then lights go out after check..........Engage parking brake to lower top.......Parking brake engaged (car stops rolling) but PARK does not illuminate on the dash......as well top will not operate. :censored: Any thoughts before I take it to the dealer? I really don't want to have to go to the dealer for someting that I hope is minor. Frustrated in Vegas, Dell
  21. Can the 01-present side skirts fit on a 99-01? Is the harware and skirts interchangable without modification?
  22. I have a 2000 996 CAB and am curious if I can fit JUST the front GT3 spoiler and side skirts but NO rear spoiler. I am not very fond of that tiny spoiler <_<
  23. 2 part question here: 1. Is the front spoiler on the Carrera Aerokit the same as the front spoiler in the Cup aerokit (both kits pre 7/01). It looks like just the rear wing is what is different in the 2 kits. 2. If so, is the front spoiler an entire piece (full bumper) that replaces the current front bumper and not just an extension (large lip, etc.) that attaches to it? Reason I ask is that is just looks like a standard front poiler on roids
  24. Same as the low beams (H7) and I think 55W. Easiest way is to pull out the standard bulb that is in the fog light place and it will say something like H7 55W. Then, just purchase the bulb that you want (whiter, etc.) with those classifications. Just don't get suckered into those crappy rice rocket bulbs that they have at PepBoys, etc. I replaced mine with SuperWhites (about $40-50) and they look good. I had too since I have the litronics and the regular fog bulb looks yellow compared to the litronic light.
