  1. As I put in my post, I already did a search. I used the term Ignition Switch... is there another term I should be searching under?
  2. 99 Boxster 51,000 miles After putting the key in the ignition the other day and starting the Boxster, turning the key on didn't feel right. On the way home I noticed the lights did not come on, and when I get in the garage, the key was hard to turn back to the off position. Pulled the keys out and the car thinks the key is still in it... dash lights stay on, radio stays on. Also, now the key does not like to slide in or come out sometimes... I sprayed a little WD-40 to help... it did but still the same issue. The key just does not turn well like there is something wrapped around it not letting it turn. I tried to take the ignition switch out today to clean it hoping it is something simple with the cylinder and tumblers. Cannot figure out how to take the cylinder out... not to mention taking the whole switch out. I did a search and found out how to take the panel with the light switch out... could have used that earlier... but nothing on the switch removal.
  3. This is a bit of an old thread but am wondering what the outcome was... Also, instead of using an unlit torch, I spray starting fluid "ether" in areas and check for engine speed change to get close.
  4. Please do a search here - those codes have been covered many many times. I thought I covered that when I stated " I did a search and found a lot of good info but not one post of a gasoline smell at low speeds just after shifting". I would appreciate your input instead of covering what has already been stated. The gas cap is fine, I checked that one, great idea though.
  5. 99 Boxster, 5 spd I did a search and found a lot of good info but not one post of a gasoline smell at low speeds just after shifting. The local autozone pulled the codes and came back with TPS Sensor, changed it, I cleared the code with the reader, and one day later it is back. I plan to clean the MAF. Check for vacuum leaks with starting fluid. Any other idea's? Where is the Air/Oil seperator located? Thx
