sounds like a cable issue to me too. I think there are 2 helper springs on the clutch, might check there as well. good luck... thanks for your help, i'll keep you posted, i'll look into the helper springs, but i feel at this point the clutch cable itself is starting to frey or freeze inside. thanks again

Hi, i've got a 1983 911SC with 30k orig miles, took out of storage this week to find a problem with the clutch or clutch cable. I depress clutch pedal to the floor then release it and it comes almost to a stop or hump then I have to release it quite a bit more, to get it over the hump, and the car either bucks severly and the goes or it stalls. Once moving all is fine, no slipping grinding etc. Come to a stop and it starts all over again. Bad or old cable or clutch going bad? Thanks bob
