Hi,Just noticed a oil leak from front Driver and passenger side, it seems its a brake fluid, i have the oil on both wheels any idea what can it be. Thanks in advance. Just looked under and seems its splashing all over the both of the car, the color is Green, I have a power steering oil and that's green color. If its power steering fluid where can be leaking the only way to check it i guess i have to remove the plastic cover under the car.
Thanks for the reply, I had the code for a while (year or so), I replaced the MAF a year ago, i had no codes for a week then back again, I also replaced Air/Oil separator, Oil fill tube and oil stick tube. i just cant get rid of this code, I had a 02 sensor Bank2 code, ordered the 02 sensor and got it today but check the code and was P0102, how can i check for Short to Ground (GND)? when i clear the code it comes back on after 2 or 3 miles of driving. i drive the car less than 4K a year so i finally decide to fix the problem.
Hi,Can someone tell me what is mass or volum air flow circuit low input mean or what to look for, car is 99 Boxster TipTronics, Thank You.
If the front mount has never been changed in your 99 Boxster, that's probably the best place to start. How many miles does it have? There is a DIY in the 986 DIY Tutorial Section that might be worth a look. It is not difficult. Keep us posted! Thank You for the reply, It has 72K, and i'm sure it was not changed, Just orderd the front mount and i should have it tomorrow.
My 99 Tiptronics makes a banging noise when it shifts, this happens when i accelerate the car from first to second gear, if i drive it slowly its fine, when happened i was thinking its the antifreeze bottle that is moving around in the trunk, Does transmission have a mount? or what should i check. Thanks in advance.
Hi, i posted my problem but didn't get a reply, The interlock on my car wont release, if i play around then it will and i can move the shifter from Park to Drive, I need to locate the Tiptronic control module, any one knows where it is? Here is what i was told to look for. This is often Caused by either a faulty brake light switch or a faulty tiptronic Unit The shift interlock solenoid gets powered up but doesn't get a full ground most of the time. Sometimes it will go to ground and the solenoid works. you need to verify brake light switch input on pin 10 of the Tiptronic control module Black/orange wire. The Black/yellow wire at the shiftlock solenoid should be powered key on engine off. The Red/Brown is the control wire switched to ground by the Tiptronic Electronic Control Unit. If the brake light switch input to the Tiptronic electronic control unit is okay and power to the solenoid is okay, then disconnect the connector at the solenoid, check resistance, 60-90 ohms. If okay, apply power and ground to the solenoid at the disconnected connector to see if it activates. If okay, it is a possible Tiptronic Electronic Control Unit problem. Further testing requires a Porsche system tester to perform activation testa on the Electronic Control Unit
wont go from park to drive, if you don't have brake depressed the shift knob wont go down, the only way i can have it work is to Rev the engine and just push on brake in order for the knob to releas so i can move from park to Drive, so there is a selinoid or relay? i didnt hear any clicking,
I'm having this problem for a week now, when i start the car and try to shift from Park to Drive the Interlock wont release, if i rev the engine while pushing on brake for a minute then it will release, car is 99 Boxster Tiptronics, any tip would be greatly appreciated. Vic
