  1. Hi all, When i reverse my 2000 boxster s, there is a very loose and chattery sound from the rear of the car. Dipping the clutch makes it go away but when I let the clutch up again to reverse the same chattery loose noise starts again. The noise is only there when reversing. Any ideas or pointers would be appreciated. Many thanks.
  2. Hi thanks for all the help. I had the lower control arm replaced and the noise is cured. Unfortunately the other side, and one of the rears has started making the same noise, so ill have to get them replaced too many thanks.
  3. Hi all, wonder if you could possibly help me. My Boxster S is making a terrible sound from the front right wheel arch when driving. The noise sounds like someone jumping up and down on a creaky bed every time i go over a bump even slight. I thought is was a noisy spring but sounds like its coming from behind the brake discs. The sound often only starts after driving for around 10 mins, or when the car is hot. When then sound is at its worst i can turn the steering wheel toward that side and get a noise that is similar. I can also replicate the sound by lifting the wheel arch up and then letting it down again or bouncing gently on the wing. Also when getting into the car, the creak is sometimes apparent. If anyone could possibly shed some light on what the problem could be or anyway to pinpoint the exact problem, as the noise is driving me crazy and I need it cured at all costs. Thanks in advance. Scott.
  4. Thanks very much for all your help. Have checked the carpets of the car and there's no water ingress or dampness. Tasted the fluid this morning and it's just water right enough. Examined it more thoroughly and it's definately slowly dripping out of the exhaust at the two brackets, so I think the condensation looks like the answer with leaky exhaust pipes. Thanks a lot Shawn and PK for all your help - what a great board! Kind regards. Scott.
  5. Hi all, I have recently purchased a 2000 Boxster S (engine replaced under warranty in 2003) and have noticed that when I start the car first thing in the morning, there is minor a drip of clear fluid from both sides of the car under the rear. When I look underneath, the drips looks like there either coming from or dripping onto the exhaust clamps at either side of the car and the small puddles on the floor are almost identical in size. The fluid definately isn't oil but doesn't particularly look or smell like coolant either, but I suppose it must be. The rear coolant tank has been replaced in the past from the reciepts i have, and theres no sign of any level loss. We've had some heavy rain a few days last week, but since then the weather has been really hot and with the car being driven daily and garaged at night i dont think it can just be water draining from somewhere, especially when it is only happening after sitting a while. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and if there are symetrical drain holes at either side of the boxster which would account for the almost identical puddles at either side on starup. Thanks in Advance. Scott.
