  1. JoeA, I have had both a C4S and a C2S, both driven in winter snow. I got a 996 C4S, with your exact thoughts in mind, to have a daily year round driver, the AWD was great, then I had the opportunity to get a 997 C2S, which I still have, and with which I have just completed my 3rd winter. I have not seen any difference with the 2 wheel drive car, over the 4 wheel drive. They both had Pirelli winter tires, which have performed well. Given your choice I would go for the newer car with less miles, the thing to think about is the aero kit in the snow and ground clearance, otherwise go for the 2007. Good luck and enjoy your new cars.
  2. I have had the clear film on two vehicles, 996 C4S and my current 997C2S, a total of 4 driving years, no ill effects or tickets. Not sure of the effect of the yellow film, I think it is illegal here in Michigan, Good Luck
  3. What should I look for, I have had this PCM in and out a couple of times?
  4. I had the dealer check the software, it is 2.1. I have been lead to believe that the dispaly head i need, to make my SAT radio project work, has a TEL button on the bottom and a SOS button on the top, and that the AM/FM function button is combined into one. My PCM has none of these features, it has and ORG button on the bottom and no button on top except the disk eject button. Regarding updates, I have done the NAV map update, andas I said the dealer computer review said I have 2.1 software. I purchased the car from a dealer, and had NAV added before delivery, perhaps they swapped the PCM. I am open to suggestions, before spending $ for the 2.1 PCM.
  5. That is what I thought, but I have a 2.0. I am seeking to install SAT radio, but kits need the SAT features of the 2.1 PCM.
  6. Can I replace a PCM 2.0 with a PCM 2.1? I have a 2005 C2S with Nav, CD Changer, Bose Sound system, and CD player in the nav display head. This means the difference in SAT radio or no Sat radio. If any one knows, please advise.
  7. I have a 2005 C2S, I have 75K, and it is going strong. I stay on top of the maintenance and away we go. I had two earlier Carrera' but I keep them boxed and shined. I love this care and drive it everyday. I would suggest that if you find one have it thoroughly checked. I put 60K of the 75K. Enjoy
  8. I purchased a 2005 C2 equipped as your 07 is. I had the OEM nav added at the dealer. The lack of a touch screen has not been a problem for me, the system does not seem slow compared to other vehicles I have driven with integral nav. Like any new system, at first it took some getting use to. I like the built in, as opposed to the "stuck on". In my previous 911's, I had the talking Garmin, but never again. The Porsche folks are slow to change, but I contend ity is because they seek to do the best job for the car. As you can tell I am partial. Just one person's view.
  9. The TSB on the site was very helpful. I do not know why Porsche does not have this update as a customer process. the steps are easy and straight forward.
  10. Does any one have the instructions for installng the nav system software update?
  11. has not set their status

  12. I had a similar problem. Ultimately the issue was the version of my PCM. It would not work with their product. They were very helpful in the diagnosis, give them a call. Good luck!
