Hey guys,

I need to replace a panel on the underside of my '04 Boxster 2.7. Before I order, I wanted to make double sure by running

it past you guys. I found this panel and want to make sure its for my specific model. It looks like it but I haven't had the car on

a lift yet. This is the part number I have for it, 985.504.119.00

I acquired my 04 Boxster 2.7 w/Tip in June and still wear a smile on my face. Even after the first trip to the dealer with a covered alarm issue. :rolleyes:

It drives well and the Tiptronic was a good choice as my beloved wife really enjoys driving it too. She actually worries now about speeding and getting

a ticket! :lol:

I drove the car recently into the local foothills and had the drive of my life. The winding little backroads were so twisty that it was like riding the

Matterhorn ride at Disneyland except I had control of the wheel! :drive:

The nicest part of the whole drive was the way people moved over and out of the way when they saw me coming, I must have looked like a missle

coming up behind them. :P

The car handles, for lack of a better term, exsquisitely. I have driven a lot of cars in my short stay on this rock, but the Boxster leaves me breathless. Anytime I wish.

It is also so enjoyable to see the excitement in my wife when she drives the car, I think she like it too! ;)

It sounds like you got the "gangster" cupholder, and it is to accomodate your 40.

Or, you never know what the German engineers are thinking, maybe it was around lunch time and

In a Boxster it can also lead to avoidable expenses.

They do not.

Only use a quart of water for the test, as you already suspect a decent leak.

No sense adding a whole gallon to the issue. ;)

As in put your foot on the brake pedal first, then try the shifter.

Maybe they have it set too tight and it is warping the top as it is closing?

IMO, it should not take any extra effort to latch the top aside from the latching itself.

Sounds like they don't have the tension on the top cables set correctly. The one pic shows what looks to be a crooked

gap at the top joint.

They need to have the "Top Guy" work on it.

It could be possible if one or more of the drain holes for the top are plugged. It happens with a heavy rain too!

Sounds like either the water pump or a damaged coolant line. There is a lot of plumbing going on behind the seats.

Now, I'll try my hand at some answers:

#1 Spoiler: got me on that one maybe a fuse blew out?

#2 Again with the fuse theory.

#3 If the key un-locks the car in a normal fashion by using the key, either the battery is low or the key fob is bad.

#4 Blinker switch on stalk is damaged

#5 If you pull the on-board computer lever towards you (a couple of times?) it will let you scroll the options for the display.

The engine sounds so sweet between 5 and 6 grand, it just begs to be driven. :drive:

No kidding about the heater, it works great. So do the heated seats!

I wouldn't fret about the head gasket. They usually just blow out.

The worst case scenario would be a cracked head. That would be a problem.

That's the price one has to pay if one likes to drive faster than the posted speed.

Mine exhibits a shift phenom once in a while as well. Mostly when I'm driving the twisty foothill roads.

They should call it the Trip-Tronic tranny. Trippy alright. :P :lol:
