  1. 2009 Cayenne S. Power tailgate stopped opening/closing. Open button above the license plate causes the latch to release and the door to open about 1/2", but the power lift mechanism doesn't engage. I can manually open and close the door. When closing it manually, the power mechanism pulls the hatch in the last 1/2" and latches closed. Glass hatch release button works fine. Remote control hatch button does nothing. Close button on the bottom right of the hatch is lit but does nothing. Checked all fuses on the right and left sides of the instrument panel, and the one on the battery. All good. Durametric is giving me the following faults: - 3074 Rear lid tilt angle sensor short circuit to B+ (I replaced the sensor - no change) - 1341 Instrument cluster no signal / communication transient fault - 908 Wiper motor no signal / comm transient fault - 668 Vehicle voltage terminal 30 inplausible signal transient fault All other systems on the car are working fine. So what might be the issue? Gateway problem? Help appreciated. Pete
  2. Loren, I thought that would be the answer, especially with the 2009 console. I wa hoping that the 2007 turbo console would work (same tranny), as I assumed the electrical platform is the same as the 2005-2008 997-1, and the gauge layout is identical (unless there is a software boost pressure gauge tha appears on the LCD display). Are you pretty certain the 2007 tt cluster won't work, or is it worth a try? I do understand the need for reprogramming when replacing the console. Thanks again for your sage advice!
  3. My 2005 997 cluster is acting flaky. Found a used 2009 cluster. Can it be used in a 2005? Form factor and pinout are the same, but is the sw so different that it won't work? Thanks!
  4. I agree. My question is then how do you get access to that connector? It appears to be completely covered by the Convertible top mechanism. I can't even see the motor.
  5. The rear passenger window on my 2005 997 cab is stuck in the up position. I took off the side panel and it appears that the window mechanism is behind the convertible mechanism. Is there any trick to getting easy access to the rear window mechanism? Anything other than a bad motor/controller that would cause it to completely stop working? The switches are working OK, as the other windows are working fine, as is the top. Durametric is showing the following code: 8041: Rear right window lifter No signal/communication Is it possible the error is in some other module, such as the window controller in either of the doors? Pete
  6. Thanks for the feedback. Is the tension on the window regulator adjustable?
  7. No. Whether in automatic via the top mechanism or manually via the door switches, the right window goes up slower than the left. It also seems to go down a little slower, but it is harder to tell.
  8. When raising the top, my right window goes up slower than the left window, such that, when the left window is all the way up, the right one still has another 1-2" to go. This happens every time. Is there any way to adjust the window movement speed, or do I need to replace the motor assemblies?
  9. Thanks for the sage advice. I just want to reset the connectors as I am getting spurrious codes.
  10. Can someone let me know where to look for the Access System controller box in a 2005 997 cab?
  11. My 2005 997 has been having strange electrical issues. It started with the passenger door window not going down 1/4" when the handle was pulled, then the passenger door would occasionally not lock when the vehicle was locked from the remote. Then the drivers door window would go down 1/4", but not go back up. Then it would not go up from the down position, but would instead go further down. Next the cruise control would turn off while driving. Now the service engine light is coming on. They seem to be in a random pattern that comes and goes. Durametric is showing a long list of trouble codes. Some saying implausible signal. It is as if there is a master controller that has been slowly failing over 6 months and is now disrupting communications between all of the modules, thus the seemingly random but increasingly broad and frequent problems/codes. Any ideas on where to begin looking for the problem? Pete
  12. Mel, I'm having the exact same problem. What was the conclusion? Pete
  13. This is half of the solution! Hold the odometer button on while turning on the key (you don't need to start the engine). The display will say Service Reset. Press the Reset button on the windshield wiper stalk. Reset complete!!!
