  1. I recently had my battery replaced (whilst on the road in Italy) and since then the CD changer has stopped working and I get the following error message on the PCM display "System error: CD changer not available". It appears every time I start the engine. My car is a 2004 (986), Boxster S 550 Anniversary. I have got a Porsche CDC-4 changer. The CD changer appears to be functioning, it has power and the cartridge still works (pops up and down etc), but I just can’t get as far as playing anything. The single CD slot inside the car continues to work as normal. Any ideas? Please help!
  2. Hello Did you find a solution to this? I have got a similar sounding problem. I recently also had the battery changed and since then I get the following message "System error: CD changer not available". The CD player still seems to be working and has power and the cartridge still works (pops up and down etc), just won't let me get as far as playing anything. Cheers
  3. Hi all Since I had my battery replaced (it died whilst I was in Italy and was replaced locally), I am now getting the following message. System error: CD changer not available. Has anyone had this problem before and got a solution? Has the mechanic wired the battery up incorrectly? Is there an easy fix for this or have I got to go on a trip to a dealer? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. A newbie to the forum.
