  1. Well, the P1123 and P1125 are almost opposite to P1124 and P1126. A P1123 and P1125 are too rich conditions - that is, the DME can not lean the mixture enough. P1124 and P1126 are too lean and the DME can not make the mixture rich enough.

If it were always P1123 and P1125 then the OBD II manual says check the fuel pump pressure and the EVAP canister purge valve (open).

Any changes recently like air filter or fuel filter? and are those codes with the MAF disconnected?

Right now the only code I get is 102 or something like that. Recognizing no signal from the MAF. It's only been a few days though. What I'm wondering is, if I understand correctly with the MAF disconnected the computer goes to some default programing. In this default programing mode would the lean/rich conditions still be achieved?

Also any one have an idea what a graph of a correctly functioning O2 sensors voltage should look like?

  2. I'm trouble shooting my CEL. I've mostly been getting 1123's and 25's, once I got 24 and 26. I've disconnected the MAF, the car runs much better when cold. It used to be until it warmed up it stumbled at around 2K. So technically speaking with the MAF disconnected and if the problem was related to another fault in this condition would I still be able to get the lean/rich faults?

As a side note what should the O2 sensor voltage look like graphed?

  3. I'm trying to trouble shoot mt CEL codes 1123, 1125. I picked up a Davis Car Chip the other day. In the trouble log at the time of the code the chip lists long term and short term fuel trim. Short term is -16% or so and long term is + 16% or so. Does any one have any idea what this is telling me?

  4. I did. Although the listings are for 996, I figured they were the same for the 986. One reason why I ask is they are listed as lean, where previously I thought 1123 was a rich condition. I'm also looking for suggestions on how to remedy the situation.

  5. P1123    Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Lean Threshold.

I would not assume this is an injector problem [there are specific injector codes.]

    Is it smoking excessively.

    Scott

No, I wouldn't say it's smoking excessively. On occassion on start up i'll get a puff of white smoke for a few seconds, but it clears quickly. It has 94K.

  6. I would like to determine if one of my injectors for 1-3 is leaking. Can I pull the injectors re connect them to the fuel rail and turn on the key? I figure turning on the ignition with out actually cranking the engine would pressurize the system and I may observe dripping if one leaked.

  7. Unfortunately I don't know this is what the shop says. I think it's only the one code. They can't find anything wrong. They feel it may be a slight vacuum leak that causes it to richen at hwy speed and then brings in the code at idle. I'll know more today when I pick it up. The plan for now is to reset the code and then see what happens.

So, would that be a P1124? or are you getting other codes too?
