  1. Thanks Philip, I appreciate the insight. While not what I was hoping, it's not at all a surprise. In my case, the Continental will likely stay in place as it does provide the Bluetooth I was lacking, and generally speaking the audio is now serviceable in the car. It's all relative I suppose. I went from terrible sound with no BT to decent sound with BT. It's still an upgrade in my book and cost me less than $200 all in and looks somewhat factory correct. Maybe I'll look into a new amp at some point when I'm ready to upgrade the door woofers. For now, I'll sink my savings into all the other updates I still have on my list. Thanks again for the reply.
  2. My '99 C2 has the M0490 "Hi-Fi" Option with amp in the frunk and 6 speaker locations. I am replacing an aftermarket stereo which has never sounded very good and has no built-in BT. I am replacing with a Continental TR7412UB-OR for a semi-factory look. I also purchased and installed the correct wiring harness conversion kit (verified by BergvillFX for use with front AMP with option code M0490). The dash and rear speakers always sound as expected (bass & treble), while the factory door mounted speakers just play bass at a low volume (on both L/R doors equally). Is this normal? This was true for both the older aftermarket stereo now removed as well as the new Continental stereo. Volume overall is great and is LOUD even at level 10 or 12 volume setting so I suspect the AMP is working fine. But it seems like I might be missing the treble (tweeter) pairs for the front doors on both sides or something else is wrong. Or, is this perhaps somehow normal? If it only happened on one side I would suspect a tweeter died but in my case it is same on both sides. Any advice?
  3. Loren was able to provide the full list based on my VIN but it doesn't itemize WHAT the "I" codes are. Option code 234 is actually I234, not M234. Still trying to learn what this code represents but at least I know exactly what I'm looking for! Be sure to post here if you find out what it is or find a site that has a complete decoder. Most only have a partial list from what I have found so far. The list I gave you comes from Porsche's database (as of August 2008). You need to ask Porsche - because some of the options are not marked (by them). :notworthy: Thanks again Loren. I will be contacting my local Porsche dealership and will post their response. :thankyou:

  5. Does anyone know what option code 234 represents on a 1999 C2 (with Sport package & LSD)? I have looked it up in a number of places but can't find this one. Thanks, you guys seem to have all the answers.
