  1. clord.... please c my post above. it makes the noise when in gear clutch engaged (foot off) while driving, therefor tourque is applied to the gearbox taking up any lash.
  2. it sounds like no one really knows what is actually causing the noise. some say its the single mass flywheel. if anyone can post a pic. of said flywheel and show me how a flywheel makes this noise i might believe it. my experience with fly wheels tells me there are no moving parts on a flywheel to make this noise. this brings us to clords claim that its gearbx lash or rattle. doutbfull as it makes the noise with the car in gear, clutch engaged ( foot off clutch) while driving. that means there is tourque on the gearbox eliminating any lash or play. not lookin for a argument, just sounds as though most are speculating or its what their dealer told them.
  3. although the question has been asked, i would like a little more info. when my clutch is DEPRESSED there is no noise. when i release the clutch it makes a rattle/grinding noise. sound like a throwout bearing. the car has 1800 miles on it and it seems to be getting worse. dealer says its normal because of the single mass flywheel. i dont understand because flywheels have no moving parts other than itself. only does it when its hot. if other rs owners could sit in their car and tell me theirs make noise then i would say its normal. just doesnt sound like german engineering.
