  1. The best engine management it's the original DME; the one you have - you can remapit; no other box will take over the whole thing; you can add a piggyback to run some af the functions(injectors, variocam), but I think it's better to find a good tuner to remapit; on 3.4 you don't have a lot of "hidden" power; the 3.6 you can get more from remapping. The turbo kits shoud come with their own piggyback to control the boost. good luck, Sergiu what do I need to buy to reprogram the DME? I can't find a dealership who is willing to do it for me in western canada.
  2. Are there any options of engine management out there for porsches? I'm swaping a 3.4l into my boxster but I'm planning on boosting it in the future as well. Can I get a engine management that can run the 3.4l right now?
  3. Does the boxster intake mani bolt up to the 3.4L engine? Reason is my engine came without the intake mani. I know that the boxster intake mani does not have the secondary valve which opens up but a friend of mine suggests creating a better mani using aluminum in that area.
  4. Thank you for the info. I will keep my 5spd for now.
  5. Are there a diy to swap a 911 6spd tranny in the boxster? I already have the engine, I'm also tempted by a tranny from the same car. Advantage and dis-advantage? I have a 5spd right now btw, non-egas
  6. Engine is seized, looks like I'm going for a 3.4L swap. Anyone have one for sale? lol
  7. Hi Todd! Do you have a pdf for removing and installing an engine in a boxster? Also where are some good places to find a 3.4L?
  8. No start, I've changed the oil, found lots of small sandy metal and the oil color was dark grey and thick (lots of metal in there) Put new oil in the boxster, still no start. I tried push starting it and no luck. Also there is no "Hummmm" before I start the car. Isn't that the fuel pump or the oil pump?
  9. Well I was making a video for you guys to take a look and the engine quited on me. I tried to rev it to make the clicking noise and sounds like something seized and the engine stalled...... Any ideas? Here's the video (Link to youtube, did it worked?)
  10. Yeah that's the only code, but now I hear the clicking noise at cold temps too. Sounds more like a clunking noise now that I read up on more threads about the IMS. I'm also getting some oil leaks (2-3 drops per day) from the RMS area. From what I know of the car's history it's been sitting for 2-3 years. I drove it 2k miles from U.S back to Canada and the engine still felt powerful but had this problem about 1k miles into the drive home.
  11. Wow, I'll work on my searching skills, thanks!
  12. Got code P1691 which is a short for the cel light. I checked the light and it was not burned. Are there a fuse for the CEL? Also the engine is very hard to start once warmed up, I have to give it half gas in order to have it catch.
  13. I tried searching but found nothing. What kind of swaps can be done to a 2.5L boxster? I saw a 3.8L engine in a boxster. What about others? I might need a new engine.......
  14. I just got a 1999 boxster, 2.5L, 5spd, it runs great until it hits 180F. At 180F 1) Idle is rough, drops below 400 and back to 1100 everytime after I rev it. 2) Stalls at fiction point 3) Idle will produce oil light below 400rpm and somtimes stall 4) Clicking noise rear right side, almost a rattle in 1 and 2 gear I've cleaned the IACV, check the oil levels, added octane boost Is there a way to reset the computer? Or is this another RMS or IMS problem? But the car runs perfect below 180F.............
