  1. I Did a search on google -- porsche 986 d2 racing suspension-- from there multiple sites advertise d2 for less than $1000. Hope this helps
  2. Tkanks I was going to do the H&R setup. But becasue of the squeeks though it be best to replace with coilovers. I am debating over D2 racing and Ksport Kontrol.
  3. Hello board members. While surfing the web I came across d2 racing rs coilovers for a 986, which are less than $1000. Any one have any opinions. I don't race. Just looking to lower and get rid of some of the squeeks in the left front end.
  4. thanks i will take a look this weekend
  5. Hey Todd Thanks for taking the time. Using a Actron Ob11 reader the car shows no codes. But I guess if i really want to see whats going on I'm going to need something more sophisticated. I wish I knew if I was using the stock airbox and Maf? At this point I will assume that I am not. (will call the guys who did the swap) But If I am then what needs to be done.
  6. Please post what ever results or test you end up doing to find out what is wrong. My experince has misfiring sounds at 2400rpm and I am looking for answers to.
  7. Becasue the issue is hard to produce while driving. I didn't want to be told that there was nothing wrong with the car. I can reproduce the misfiring sounds but it doesn't equate to loss of power just a firecracker sound at 2400rpm held steady. Im not sure what the Installers can do but I will call them. Are there any types of test that can be performed? Thanks
  8. Frustratedpa3.4l 3-18-2009 A little history... 98 boxster 2.5 swaped to 3.4l in 2007 ran it for a year and was not overly impressed. Thanks to board members found that I had the boxter program in the ecu. Had ecu reprogrammed and the car really takes off and revsto 7200rpm. yeeeeeehaaaaaaa. I am very happy with the power but since the remapping of the ecu the car will spuratically act as though it is misfiring at 2500-3200rpm under light acceleration. Problem is that it is very hard to duplicate. Things I have noticed.... No cel lights If in neutral and I gently rev the engine to 3800rpm I can hear the same sound as when driving --like a back pressure issue??? could exhaust be causing the loss of power??? Drive hard the car runs fine Cold weather car does not act up at all ....Could it be a maf thing .. I know cold air is denser so is my car starving for air under low exceleration in warm weather >40.C Since its hard to duplicate how do I go about fixxing the issue are the some test that can be done The box has Dansk headers and 100cell cats and ghl exhast with 3.4l 996 motor. Thanks in advance for any input

  10. I'm Looking into lowering my car. Is there a difference between GEMBALLA H&R LOWERING SPRINGS FOR PORSCHE and H&R springs that can be found at Tire rack. Any input would be appreciated Pa3.4l
  11. Pa3.4l 10-20-2008 Thank you to all posters. My 3.4l is running up to 7200rpm and what a difference a program can make. Now that I have speed I would like to add some wheels to my 98 boxster. Currently I have stock 17' would like the axis Penta 19by 8.5 and 19by 10.5 which can be ordered with a 25mm or 40 mm offset. The question Will these rims work and what size rubber is needed. No suspension mods have been done. -Thanks :D
  12. Back from vacation I am goiing to have the shop retry the flash.. if not I guess I need a newer $2000 ecu. Side note.. once I get the 996 program what can I expect in terms of performance other than a higher rev limiter. Is it like night and day.
  13. Just got a call from the shop they confirm that 6700rpm is probably boxster program. The thought is that it didn't take the flash and a new ecu is going to be $2000. Any thoughts. I'm thinking maybe it wasn't flashed. There notes say it was. So at this point they will look at the car and try to reflash it if this doesn't work where can I get a ecu that can be flashed for less than $2000. Mitesh
  14. Found instructions on Rennsport systems .. looks simple enough .... Remove holding bollts and release multi connector. :D Just to be sure it is a silver box right?
  15. I appreciate, and will take you up on that. I am taking the kids on a mini vacation and will be back 9-09-08. Thanks to other posters I know where the dme is. How do I get it out and lastley where do I send it to. -Thanks Mitesh
  16. Updated Profile --Todd Your really making me work to solve this. So from what I am getting the only way to gaurantee that I have the right program is to be able to read the ecu. With that in mind I looked into the Durametric Enthusiast Package. Reading the ecu feature --Some modules are capable of displaying information about the car that is not fault related. Sometimes this information is nothing more than the part number or firmware number, but in some cases it displays a lot of interesting information about the vehicle. To access this information click on "ECU Identification". Doesn't sound like the gaurantee it either? At this point tell me what to do. -Mitesh
  17. So back to pin 59..... Since no one in my area has the means to read my ecu program and the guys who did the swap are 3hrs away I figgured that If a mechanic showed me the top of the intake manifold and i saw a valve actuator arm swing open after 3000 rpm then it would be safe to say that I have the right program. Right?
  18. Found Dme now where is pin 59. Can I see it by just looking or do I need to pull something apart --Mitesh
  19. This is not as easy is i thought. I found the dme under the drivers seat. From reading your pdf I am to be looking for a wire installed in position 59. Very hard to tell. Do I have to remove the seat?? Is there no other way... Again I am mechanically challenged :D -Mitesh
  20. Inde does not have (PST2 or PIWIS) neither does a local tuning shop. I have contacted the shop that did the install .... Waiting to hear back for them. Any on in Pa with this tool -Thanks
  21. Thanks for cutting me some slack. I will contact my local inde to see if they can test it. and see if they can see an additional wire added to the DME to the actuating solenoid. - Mitesh
