  1. There's a lag when the clutch engages and the wheels begin to turn on take-off, small lurch in all gears there's lag when you get off then on the gas, feels like U-joint or axle play in old front engine rear drive cars. The dealer put it on lift and said looked OK, but I've owned MGs, Triumphs, Jags, Healy's, and 356B, none had this slop. When the car is on jack stands, the outermost point on tire can be rotated an inch or inch and 1/2 in any gear. When I grabbed the inner CV joint, the play is in the tranny/axle, not the CV joint. My friends Boxter S doesn't feel this way on and off the gas.
  2. I've aske before, but got no difinitive answer. My 2001 S 6 speed goes out of warranty next month and I have what feels like driveline play or lash when I lift off the gas and immeditely push down on the gas pedal again. Not a real clunk, but almost. There's play before the power is applied to the wheels. More noticeable in upper gears. The dealer says the halfshaft play is normal, but it just doesn't feel tight as it should. Does anyone else have this
  3. I sue strip of duct tape to press on the top and remove lint..works great
  4. My 01 S clutch is very hard to depress, expecially compare to my friend's newly installed 01 S clutch. His was hard hard to press also before he replaced it. The dealer says they get harder as they age. I this this is BS. ANy body else ?
  5. How much halfshaft (wheel/tire/ rotation) movement is normal when car is on jacks in 1st gear , turning the rear wheel one at a time. When I release the clutch, it feels like there is some driveline lag or lash. I have an 01 S with 32K miles (still a few months warranty left)
