  1. Yes, that would work, although I would just purchase the tool from the dealership (can't be that expensive). It's pretty hefty, and provides a lot of leverage, which you'll need to lock that baby into place. A regular, cheap allen wrench may bend...
  2. I'm running 235 x ? on the front 295 x 30 on back (19" Wheels) Having the PSS9s help a lot too though, cause I can adjust the ride height.
  3. Over the weekend I put the hardtop back on. Is it common for there to be this much distance between the plastic pieces in the rear (please see pics)? They're not flush. However, the round, plastic "stops" on the hardtop (behind the rear fasteners) are making contact with the car (although you cannot see that in this photo).
  4. I lost the link to the PDF document(s) that visually show the parts breakout -- sorry, I don't know how else to describe it. I think the URL was a porsche.com. Can anybody point me to the right place? Thx.
  5. Thanks. I was also able to find this HOW TO with photos: http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/996head...96headlight.php
  6. What's the best way to remove and re-install the light unit? I noticed after removing it one time, that there is a small bar that can be positioned "up" or "down" -- for a lack of better description. I think I may have installed it incorrectly because the lower portion doesn't meet up with the bumper correctly.
  7. I too have PSS9s. My wheels are Champion Motorsport 19" RG5 (staggered). Loren should I use the X74 specs, even though they're 19" wheels? Thx!
  8. ToolPants, is that a photo of the driver side or passenger side A Pillar?
  9. Thanks RFM. Does anyone have a drawing or photo of the antenna amp mentioned above?
  10. I purchased the car approximately one month ago, and the spoiler was already installed. I don't have a lot of experience with the various after-market wings, but it appears to be a quality product. It's an aggressive looking spoiler. I'm happy with it. Also, you'll notice the air scoops on either side are functional. I would hope that extra air (at highway speeds) makes up for the extra weight the spoiler adds to the car.
  11. I have the Porsche CDR220 head unit in a 2000 996. FM reception is horrible. You think it's the wimpy windshield antenna or the head unit? If it's the antenna, what is the recommended after-market solution? Thanks!
  12. Yes, please post the part number. Also, do you know where to buy the rubber, adjustable, screw-in stops? I'm missing one, and 3 of the auto part stores I went to don't even offer a generic version. BTW, I took the car to Imagine Auto in Lenexa, Kansas this week to have the Gemballa break light wired up and the harness repinned so the dash light wouldn't keep coming on. As my first experience at Imagine, I can tell you the folks are good people, reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.
  13. I just purchased my first Porsche - a 2000 911 C2 Cabriolet (attached) A few questions on the Gemballa spoiler: 1. The spoiler dash light turns on and off periodically, even when traveling between 30 and 45 MPH. Is there a way to override the sensor, since there's no moving spoiler anymore? 2. The engine release lever doesn't actually "release". I have to pull it and have my wife lift up the wing to I can get to the engine (she wasn't too happy about that "this is a Porsche!" is all I heard...) Any way to make that release? Install a different shock or something? Thanks!
