  2. Tool Pants you´re wright - i have a 1997, not one of the first unknwon 1987 models... Thats the same problem i have. I checked the old boxster threats but not the 996 ones. I will check this later today. I was not sure about the relay. Hopefully this will solve the problem on a cheap way.
  3. Hi guys, yesterday, i jumped in my car (1987 Boxster). The sun was shining, no rain. I started the engine and the windshield wipers started to work. I pulled it down but it did not stop. I pushed it up and pulled it down again but it is still working... The thing is - i can choose between speed 1 and speed 2, but intervall and stopping it is not working! Looks like the steering column switch has a problem. Do i have to get a new one (part# 996.613.217.10 ? - speed control, no bord computer) or would it make sense to open the part (if possible) and get it maybe fixed or could it also be another part that is not working? Thanks, Simon PS: The only way now to stop the windshield wipers from working is pulling out the fuse...

  5. Just to keep you guys updated - problem is solved. I had the car checked at the Porsche dealer. They put in a new Central Looking Unit and it had to be programed with a new key. They also noticed that both door locks were not working, after they had checked some options for the problem, that the doors still won´t lock. I replaced the locks with two used ones. Everything cost me about 1100 EUR...

  7. Hi guys, had a check engine light the last two days (erased it the first time but it showed up again). Checked the car with Durametric which showed Code P0410 and P1411. Does anybody know, what might be the fault. Thanks Stefan
  8. In the meantime, i found out that the brown/red wire connected to the doorlock is the signal for openening the lock and brown/white for shut the lock - if you give a (-) signal. But even if i do this with a little wire, i get a "feedback-noise" from the central locking unit but the doorlocks don´t open or close. I still have the Durametric fault 46 - "syncronisation" and 60 - "not able to close". Is it possible, that both door locks are not working...? The Porsche guys said that the CLU might be out of order. But every electroninc feature works fine - even the doorlock for the back trunk. Only the two door locks don´t work. Any idea...???

Hi guys, as i still have the problem with my Central Locking Unit ( both door locks and alarm not working (with the fob), all other functions are fine), i want to install a third party central locking unit (maybe alarm also) just to open and close the doors with a fob. The door locks originally are conneted with a nine wire connector. First question is: - if i disconnect this connector from the door lock and instead wire the new central locking wires to the door lock, will this cause a problem to the porsche central locking unit? - the manual of the new CLU says, Porsche uses a "negative trigger" to open / close the doors. If so, which wires do i need to connect with the two wires from the new CLU? Thanks a lot, Simon2, 98 Boxster us model

  11. Hi guys, as my central locking unit is not working at the moment (other post), i can only lock the driver side door with the key. I can not lock the passenger side door. Is there a way, to lock/unlock the passenger side door by putting +12V on one off the wires at the lock, just for the meantime until i got fixed/changed the central locking unit. It will just be for a temporary time. Thanks, Stefan
  12. I did not found new door locks, but i found another M535 unit with the code to program it (that´s what the seller told mes). For my car (98), i would need part# 996 618 260 07. Will other parts# like 996 618 260 05 or 03 or others also work? Will the Porsche dealer only need a code to program it?
  13. Your wright. When i bought the alarm box, i thought i would only need this part. I was very cheap so no big deal. But i found some europen door locks from a LHD car. I think i will try those. Is it just plug´n play or do the doorslocks have to be programmed by the alarm unit?
  14. The used M534 alarm box i bought is from a UK-model. I can get both door locks from this car but will they fit in - steering weel and key lock on the right side in UK! Also this UK car had a tilt sensor installed. Will this M534 box work in my US car without having the tilt sensor installed? This will be a "international" car when it´s done... :D
  15. No M536, only options are 232 396 454 490 502 535 551 582 688 692 Update: I made the connectors match and put in the used M534 unit with 433 Mhz in the car. The doors did not open or close with the keyfob; i was only able to open the trunk lid - the same like with the other old M535 unit. The only different thing that happend is that both windows went down when i pushed the keyfob. Then i changed the keyhead with the M534 platine (see picture) and i could go to ignition, but where not able to start the car. My "old" key had the little "glass pill" (? transponder/immobilizer ?) on the side, the "new" key from the used M534 unit had it on the top (i guess - red circle?). Then i installed the old M535 unit back again, changed the key back and the car started, but no door locking, unlocking with the fob. The guy i bought the used unit from told me, that it worked fine bevore he remode it. So - what should i do? Does the M534 unit only needs to be programmed? When i first went to the Porsche dealer, they took a lock at the car and said it might be the doorlock itself. Then they put it at the computer and then said, i would need a new unit. So - what should i do next? If there´s nothing else left that i can do by myself, i guess, i would bring the car to the dealer and have a new unit installed. And it´s not only the money. I would like to solve the problem by myself (with the help on renntech, of course) :renntech:
  16. But i have the matching 433 Mhz keyfob with the immobilizer. I just need to cut the connector so that it fits inside the module. Should this work?
  17. Sorry, i forgot to mention - i´m from Germany. Over here, it makes no difference if you use 315 Mhz or 433 Mhz. I thought, the 415 MHz might also work with my US specs Boxster. Just plug´n play...
  18. The pins of the connector are the same. and the motherboard has the same numbers: USe 07/97 Best.-Seite 70504006005 i thought if i would change the hole unit, it would be okay - just sending on another frequency. So i have to buy a new one... :huh:
  19. i took the central locking unit out of the car. It´s a 535 - us version. The one from the salvage car is a 534 - european version. Unfortunatly, the connector on the left side has not the same layout... I opened the unit and they look very simular. i can cut away the little plastic nose from the male connector to make it fit in the unit. Would that be a good idea or can this cause a damage to the unit or even other electronic things...? By the way - there has been no signs of water inside the unit...
  20. I have a little Porsche card from the salvaged car, which says "key code" but it´s only 8 digits: 83157005. Whats IPAS codes? If i use the key fob which belongs to the used central locking unit - then, is it not only necessary to change the blade and immobilizer (or reprogramm it) to get the car started?
  21. Thanks Loren for the quick answer! So - just to be sure - i can: - install my used central locking unit - with the matching used key fob and the immobilizer (i only have one) now the central locking unit should work. Drive the car to the Porsche dealer with my old key (matching the lock and the immobilizer) and Porsche can programm the immobilizer inside the used key to match the "car". Then change the blade. This will work?
  22. Had the car checked this morning at the Porsche dealer. They told me, the central locking unit is not working correctly. I would need a new unit and a new key to match. I have a unit from a salvage car including the keyfob. Can i put in the used one in the car and will this work - if, maybe , programmed by Porsche. They told me, it´s not possible, because the unit can only be programmed one time and a used one will not work. But they are not 100% sure. Is it possible to change the unit with a used one or not ??? Thanks, Stefan
  23. Loren, did you mean 46 - it says synchronisation. I can not clear alarm failures with my Durametric. Do you think the central locking unit has a defect? Will a M534 with a the matching key fit - i might get a cheap one, just in case?
  24. Just a question - i have a M535. Will a 534 or 531 also fit?
  25. I checked the Alarm system with the Durametric - failure code 46 and 60. Checked also the floor - the carpet behind the driver seat is wet, the compartment under the seat seems more or less try. I put an electric heater behind the driver seat to make the interiour dry. Could the central locking unit be affected, even if the gas door get the signal to lock...? Drivers door can only be locked with the key. No reaction on the remote control. The same with the passenger door... :huh:
