  1. just replaced front rotors and pads. Also did spring cleaning which included wash, clay bar, meguiars polish and finished w/ zymol wax. just a few quick pics
  2. Ok I need to replace the rear door ashtray because daughter removed all of the color from the lid of it w/ her foot. I ordered the replacement part and I have it in hand. It looks like I will need to remove the rear door panel. Can anyone confirm this and if so do you know what is involved. Thanks guys
  3. I'm running Yokohama Parada Spec X's in a 22inch fitment. I've got about 30,000 miles on them and they are still smooth quiet and have good tread left. Very happy w/ the tire.
  4. I had yokohama parada spec x's on my landrover lr3 22inch wheels and currently on my cayenne 22's. I have had them on for two years and wear is great. Car rides wonderfully w/ no noticeable road noise beyone oem. I love the tires and would definitely purchase again. Nice aggressive tread pattern as well.
  5. Anyone use or hear about Mintex pads? Thinking about grabbin a set as they are on closeout at $75. Hawks are the other consideration for sure
  6. Just purchased ate slotted front rotors and now looking for pads. Found a good deal on a few brands but will mods have to be made to pads in order for the sensors to work? Should I just use oem/pagid pads? Thanks in advance.
  7. Just in case anyone else needs this answer, I got it from Jeff at Sunset. Part Number is 955 555 851 00 7ba.
  8. My rear drivers door ash tray has black marks all over. tried to clean with wet cloth and now it is sticky and discolored. Dealer had replaced other side under warranty but now out of warranty so need part number. The actual part is the lid of the ash tray and the little triangular piece beside it. Anyone know how hard these are to replace? thanks
  9. i'm running 285/35/22 yokohama parada spec x and I love them. It's an aggressive tread pattern but the ride is great and quiet. I've been running this set for almost two years and they have worn great. Hope this helps.
  10. my horn failed as well. replaced under warranty. alarm horn still worked.
  11. thanks boxstered. will definitely check it out. keeping my fingers crossed.
  12. just checked w/ sunset and they said they show 2 fuel pumps, a left and right. About $200each. How would I know if both are bad or should both be replaced at same time?
  13. thanks scott, I'd thought the same thing. Is that a costly fix? wonder how much from Sunset Imports? I can't remember the exact amount but it was over $1000 usd. We were under warrenty and had a private shop do it. They said the tank had to come out. Scott go figure
  14. thanks scott, I'd thought the same thing. Is that a costly fix? wonder how much from Sunset Imports?
  15. refueled this morning. car started fine. no codes have reappeared. Gonna get battery checked but so far so good.
  16. does it have to be a porsche specific battery or is just meeting the correct specs ok?
  17. Can they test the battery at Advanced Auto/Autozone or do i have to take it to dealer? I cleared all of the fault codes and I have driven twice and none have returned althought I have not filled the car up w/ gas yet and that is when I've had my two incidents w/ not starting. Guess we will see as a refuel is needed in the next day or two.
  18. Definitely gonna clean the fuel cap. then maybe i'll have to order a new one from Sunset. I don't think it was bad fuel as I always use premium from same place and the last two times it refused to start after refueling and only did the rough idle when I gassed it to get it started. after running for 15seconds each time, it ran fine for the rest of the tank. It definitely seems that it is something to do w/ the fuel system. HOpefully it is just the cap. Anyone know what all of these codes mean???
  19. received durametric and here are the codes that I got: PO455 Evaporative emmission system - Leak detected(large leak) present PO441 Evaporative emmission system - Incorrect Purge Flow - short to ground or positive 1176 immobiliser key 353 Feedback from blower regulator - front short to ground or positive 907 Load management operat. on vehicle - electrical system/dme module present 1748 Tip switch on steering wheel up present I cleared all of the codes and took it around the block. I also opened the gas tank and then resealed. Still no check engine light. We will see what happens tommorow. Any tips on these codes. Thanks guys
  20. Originally the cel came on but car was running normally. Have never had any type of code or problem w/ car in two years. When I refueled the car and tried to start it wouldn't turn over. I gave it some gas on third attempt and it turned over but idled roughly for a minute. I drove about a mile and stopped at stop light. Car was fine. i had only put $20 in car as it was all i had on me. Two days later I went to fill her up and car had driven fine w/ no incidents. After refuelling it once again did not want to turn over. Gave it some gas and we are running fine again. Ordered durametric and waiting to receive. Warranty just ran out May 13. thats the sucky part. thanks
  21. Warranty just ran out 20 days ago. Have owned car for 2 years w/ no problems. It is a 2005 v6. Check engine light came on after a day of running around town but car ran fine. Next day put $20 in gas in car and upon getting in car and starting it didn't turn over on first try. I gave it some gas on third try and it started. After driving for a few miles I stopped at a stop light and car was fine. Car ran fine until I put gas in today. filled tank and upon turning key to start car kept trying to start but would not turn over fully. I turned key off and tried again. same thing it was trying to start but wouldn't turn over. On third try I gave it some gas and we went up the road. Had to stop at the exit to gas station and car was fine. Drove home fine with no problems in stop and go traffic. Car is sitting in garage waiting for my durametric to arrive but I was wondering if anyone had this happen before or had an idea of what the problem may be. Car runs normally other than on the last two fuelings. thanks guys.
  22. I should have knocked harder.....the car is running great but upon returning home today and pulling in garage noticed check engine light is on......warranty ran out less than a month ago.....great.
