  1. Just cleaning my 81 911 and under the seat found a receipt for an oil stabilizer and a can of Restore. I know the 81 had been stored for a long time but this scares me! I am taking it to get a tune up/valve adjust Monday in Denver. Should I mention this and see what he says?? I guess this is cleaner than sawdust! It passed Emissions with no problem and runs good. a few drops of oil in the garage but otherwise runs pretty good. Should I be worried or was the last seller just trying to get it running as best he could before sale. I had a leakdown test performed and all cylinders were less than 10%. Let me know what you think as I traded a perfectly good 2001 jeep and paid $$ to boot for this. Thanks :drive:
  2. I just bought a 1981 911 SC coupe with 85k original. Been looking for 2 months and finally bought. I had some cold start burps (small backfires) this morning until it warmed up. I am planning on taking it to Ft. Collins Colorado (nearest Porsche knowledgeable) next week to have it tuned up and a pop off valve installed and wondered what I could expect to pay? it runs nice about 4600 rpm on the way home last night from Denver. Could not have been speeding as it showed 85 on the sppedo!! Great inside and out with just a few minor (I hope) issues. windshield washer doesnt squirt, 1 fog light bulb needs replaced, small oil leak (2 drops all night same spot. handles like a dream, corners like its on rails and feel every bit of road. Any help to this fish would help. Thanks and happy motoring!!!
