  1. Good morning all... well, I finally got the 996. Now is the time for tuning. My goal is the ultimate expression of a '99 996. That would be for me, a street drivable track car. Essentially, a Clubsport version. Lightweight, fast with an incredible ability to corner. So, I ask you all. Let's list the best mods available (in your own opinion) for those newbies (like me) out there who are just starting up on their own project. Here are the list of Mod Topics (feel free to add): Intake / Intake Manifold - Engine breathing Exhaust Engine Misc. Suspension Safety Wheels Body Aerodynamics Misc. (interior trim, doodads, etc.) Thanks all! I look forward to the posting the final list! -Chad
  2. Thanks Loren. 6+ yearrs driving on the track. No worries. My last car had a LTW fly and I loved it. Heel-toe downshifts were incredible. Besides, my drive home from work consists of a few nice right hand sweeping corners. ;-) Chad
  3. Upon speaking with some friends who own a shop in the Atlanta area, they mentioned that a 996 with a LTW flywheel has a tendency to stall in everyday driving. First, is this true and secondly...what would be a recommended flywheel? Third...how about a recommended source for clutch components. Thanks...!! Chad
  4. I just saw "deals" (two page ad) from Brandywine Porsche in the latest Excellence, there was a black 3-spoke wheel w/ airbag for a really good price. Around $795 I believe. Check in there. Chad
  5. Nevermind, I found one from Brey Krause. Many thanks for the help. Chad
  6. Hmmm...good read. Anything out there about a baffle system in the pan? Chad
  7. Interesting. Is this something I can do on my own? I heard something needs to be machined, but I do not know the specifics. Chad
  8. A close friend of mine (midwest PCA Zone Rep) told me to consider the oil pickup mod from Porsche Motorsports if I was going to track my 996. Is this a needed thing? I do plan on tracking the 996. ...And, I am willing to do it myself. Is this something I can do myself? (fairly competent mechanic). Fill me in here. Chad A.
