  1. I don't have any pictures though I think they may have started using the new arms in 1992 (not sure). The only difference in that the old one has one spring on the bottom and the new one has two.

    Hope this helps.

  2. When this topic first came up I followed Post #5 and I did see the “service reset” message even though I couldn’t reset it. Since then, I have had warrantee work done and they told me the upgraded some software. I tried it again yesterday and now it no longer displays the “service reset” option. They must have removed that feature.

On the bright side, I called my local Porsche mechanic and he now has the Cayeene software to reset the service reminder. One less thing to worry about.

  3. I have the same problem every time I disconnect my battery (1990 C4). You need to get the idle reset with the Bosch Hammer. My mechanic charges $75 for the job and it takes 15 minutes. The car will run perfect after that.

  4. Well...here I go...maybe paving a new path for Cayenne owners? I'm going to install

OEM quality seat heaters on the front seats. Porsche does not offer retrofitting and I'd really

like heated seats here in CO. Found a very high quality kit, have studied up on seat removal and cover removal including Air Bag precautions, and purchased a hog ring plier kit to boot :( WISH me Luck!!!

    I'll take pics.

Who makes the kit? I would like to put them in my back seats.
  5. :clapping: I've heard this mod will produce a deeper/10dB louder exhaust note and a little more torque. Is there a downside, something that could bite me later? Is the bypass reverseable? Thanks. :clapping:

    You wont regret it!

You can always go back and you can do it yourself in an hour.

  6. Where did you get the newer style? Do you have a part number?

I bought them from Sunset Imports (mention their ad in "Excellence Magazine" for a nice discount".

You will need a few parts, the arm, caps and you might as well change the blades. It was $25 for each arm and $21 for the blades. The caps were about $2 a pair.

There is a right and left wiper arm, I'm not sure which part number is for which arm (they know):

    964-628-028-01 Wiper Arm

    964-628-028-02 Wiper Arm

    964-628-901-02 Wiper Blades

    928-628-623-01 Wiper Arm Caps (x2)

One of the best upgrades for the money!

  7. I have a 1990 C4 and just performed one of the best upgrades (non-performance) yet.

I upgraded the wiper arms to the newer style (two hold down springs instead of one). The blades are now firmly pressed against the windshield. Highly recommended!

  8. I can't say for certain but if it's anything like the “Cayenne” emblem on the back of the car you can use dental floss or fishing line and slide it behind the emblem. It will cut through the adhesive strip as you work it back and fourth. Once off, you can clean the area beneath with adhesive remover.

This is not a "recommendation" or “authorized procedure” (but it's what I would do :) ) BE CAREFUL!

  9. I just had Armorglove (made by Dupont) installed on my 05 Cayenne. No problems with the install and it looks great. The installer told me they used a 3M product (Clear Bra) before and stopped because the glue yellowed, very noticeable on white cars. Another good thing about Armorglove is that it can be stretched in all directions which makes it easy to install and less cuts have to be made. The 3M product is rigid.

I'm sure there are pros and cons for both products, but I just told you everything i've been told.

    Good luck.
