  1. Does anyone have an update on this? I would like to swap out my Cayeene remote as well. Thanks
  2. I don't have any pictures though I think they may have started using the new arms in 1992 (not sure). The only difference in that the old one has one spring on the bottom and the new one has two. Hope this helps.
  3. When this topic first came up I followed Post #5 and I did see the “service reset” message even though I couldn’t reset it. Since then, I have had warrantee work done and they told me the upgraded some software. I tried it again yesterday and now it no longer displays the “service reset” option. They must have removed that feature. On the bright side, I called my local Porsche mechanic and he now has the Cayeene software to reset the service reminder. One less thing to worry about.
  4. Post 7-9 say it didnt work. Maybe they disabled it. SSHARP225 - What year and model is your Cayeene?
  5. I have the same problem every time I disconnect my battery (1990 C4). You need to get the idle reset with the Bosch Hammer. My mechanic charges $75 for the job and it takes 15 minutes. The car will run perfect after that.
  6. I wonder if the rear seats are wired also since its an option. How can I tell?
  7. You wont regret it! You can always go back and you can do it yourself in an hour.
  8. You dont want to use those covers, your brakes will overheat. Low dust pads just became available - You may want to go that route....
  9. I bought them from Sunset Imports (mention their ad in "Excellence Magazine" for a nice discount". You will need a few parts, the arm, caps and you might as well change the blades. It was $25 for each arm and $21 for the blades. The caps were about $2 a pair. There is a right and left wiper arm, I'm not sure which part number is for which arm (they know): 964-628-028-01 Wiper Arm 964-628-028-02 Wiper Arm 964-628-901-02 Wiper Blades 928-628-623-01 Wiper Arm Caps (x2) One of the best upgrades for the money!
  10. I tried to install my Rennline dead pedal yesterday and I had to bail out early on. I couldn’t get the hood release lever off. Can anyone describe how it’s done? Thanks
  11. skl - Do you know what tool he used to pry up the plastic sill?
  12. I just bought one from Rennline but haven't installed it yet. Pretty nice match IMHO. Got it directly from Rennline for $80 (no tax) at the Hershey Parade Swap Meet last weekend. Rennline Dead Pedal
  13. They are special blades - It does not have a separate insert for the rubber. It's an all or nothing replacement.
  14. Does anyone have a good source for wiper blades? I would like to avoid spending $50 if possible. Thanks
  15. I also changed the "Cayenne" trunk logo (the V6 version only comes in black) with the brushed aluminum look version. You have to buy the logo for the “Cayenne S” (aluminum) and through away the “S”. The aluminum logo is a big improvement over the cheesy black plastic one. Total cost $8.00 from Sunset Imports.
  16. The V6 Cayenne doesn’t have climate control (it has manual temperature and fan speed settings) does anyone know if the unit is replaced with that of a Cayenne S will the climate control features work? Thanks in advance
  17. Has anyone installed this yet? Underside protection plate Thanks
  18. Their websie says they only have it on for the V8. Do you have a link for the V6 you can post?
  19. I have a 1990 C4 and just performed one of the best upgrades (non-performance) yet. I upgraded the wiper arms to the newer style (two hold down springs instead of one). The blades are now firmly pressed against the windshield. Highly recommended!
  20. I can't say for certain but if it's anything like the “Cayenne” emblem on the back of the car you can use dental floss or fishing line and slide it behind the emblem. It will cut through the adhesive strip as you work it back and fourth. Once off, you can clean the area beneath with adhesive remover. This is not a "recommendation" or “authorized procedure” (but it's what I would do :) ) BE CAREFUL!
