  1. So for some off reason, my tach arrow ceases to glow on the dial and just disapears at night. No other lights are affected, does not seem to coencide with anythin (outside temp, driving style, alignment of planets, etc.). Sometimes it even goes for days without doing it, then either 1 or 100 minutes into driving, it's beatiful red glow dissapears. 2004 V6. Any ideas? Must I remove the dash?
  2. It was the switch on the door 955 613 158 00 6n3 (6n3 is the color code for black).
  3. i have a MY2004 Cayenne v6 with 17x7.5 rims. I have the opportunity to purcase 2004 cayenne turbo rims 19x9. Has anyone had any experience with this? what happened to ride quality? was an adjustment necessary to the speedometer? did you need spacers? do you recomend the spacers? thanks
  4. Just switched the baby to a rear faceing seat and looks like the sunn is hitting her a bit more diretly. I was looking up adding a sunshade part # 955 731 317 00 and the cover 955 731 319 00 also support 955 731 324 000, the problem is MY2004 Cayenne v6 doors do not look like they have the holes.. Please let me know any additional info. thanks.
  5. Thanks, that looks like it is it - a local transmission expert helped determine it. Now I have to drive it over to the dealer for the quote, has anyone had it done - how much did it cost you? It sounds pretty common because the service guy said he has plenty of valve bodies in stock and moves them. No extended and it sure sucks that a 35k premium automobile should need one...
  6. Hey guys, what do you think: Vehicle: 2004 Cayenne V6 Trip 37k miles, unfortunately out of warranty (vehicle was not operated for about 6 months) Symptoms: when in 5th gear and driving 40-46 mph and gas is fully derpessed to force down shift, there is a Hard shift and shuddering. Also whne slowly deaccelerating in fifth gear, immediately when you hit 25mph and it drops in 4th you get a hard shift - no shuddering. no harsh shifting with PSM off or with 'normal driving'. Recomendations: Control unit? Valve Body? My Durametric tool is on the way, any specific codes to look for that could help decide. Can anyone provide experience with either a control unit or valve body replacement. thanks much for all inputs.
  7. Thank you so much! That makes sense...I'll ripp that guy out this weekend.again, thank you for takeing the time to help!
  8. Thanks SOH! Now I don't feel like I'm crazy. It just doesn't sound right that the door lock needs replacement unless it's got a gyrospce or something built in. Can any mechanicsa explain this? Other than that, I just found that my footwell light was clipped. I wonder if this is what's messing me up..
  9. it was at the dealer with the system with no faults regarding this issue...that's why I think it is a physical something. If you forget about the keyfob, and open any door that is unlocked it will turn the light on, my driver's side doesn't. If you are driving then stop, get out via DR door you cannot open the rear hatch (normally you could but in my case the car does not know the door opened), i need to open the passenger or a rear door to let the car know someone got out and to unlock the rear hatch.
  10. I agree but in this cases the PWIS (sorry if wrong acronym) at the dealer didn't pull anything up, and because of other issues, they forgot to look deaper at this one. How does the dar know when the door has been opened? Does it rely on the light coming on? Is it in the door handle? Is there a sensor on the inside of the door frame? Is there any place to look at detailed schematics of the doors?
  11. no, not using KESSY and the keyfob is broken and being replaced. Physically it works fine, it's just that the car doesn't reckognize when it's open. No lights on, can't open truck, etc.., untill I open another door.
  12. any tips on removing the switch? Just do it really carefully. You need to remove the small housing it sits in from the door panel with some gentle levering taking car not to damage it/ Then the switch can be removed from the housing easily. Does anyone have a schematic avail for this? Thanks.
  13. So I just picked up my problem-full Cayenne (more posts coming) and I figured I would tackle the most annoying problem first - entry into the vehicle. The key fob doesn't work so I'm forced to inserting the key and unlocking it manually. Trick is, for some reason the driver's side door isn't reckognized by the car. The minute I unlock it with the key and open the door, the alarm sounds. This goes a bit further...when I open the driver's side door, none of the internal lights come on until the paseenger or rear door is opened. Same for the trunk. I cannot unlock the trunk without first opening a passenger or rear door. It's really as if it's not there or been touched. I did read earler someone had a similar issue, I think they might have even said they had to have handles replaced, but after hours of searching and no luck I figured I'd try posting once again. I am in the process of getting the keyfob...has anyone had luck getting it via ebay?
