  1. Just split the transmission case... Found four gears broken off the 1st/2nd gear drive shaft. Okay... Does anyone know if 97-99 transmissions are interchangeable? Jetmd
  2. I started my car the other morning and noticed a very unusual tapping/thumping noise when I released the clutch pedal with the transmission in neutral. Proceeded to drive my car and everything was okay until I shifted into second gear. The sound was more pronounced in second gear and the same noise was noticeable in all other gears. Has anyone heard of this type of problem? If so, please let me know... In addition, the noise goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed. Regards, Jetmd
