    You have gotten a lot of great info from everyone else on this!

    I had the 490 option and when I added Harvey's rear speaker kit it really helped, but I was able to pick up a six channel Porsche amp for $20.00 on Ebay and when I got done with that installation, again thanks to Harvey for sending me the cable free of charge!, it sounded a LOT better.

    Keep watching ebay and other forums and when you will find a good buy on an amp - go for it. If you order the kit from Harvey ask for the cable for the amp right away and save the added expense.

  2. I protected a set of Turbo wheels by taping a couple layers of cardboard on the face of the wheel. Then shipped them by one of the UPS knockoff companys. But, like others have said - BUY THE INSURANCE - When the buyer got them they had been stacked up on a truck and two of them had damage to the faces. They buyer said the insurance took care of it.

    I agree it is probably an internal code. On my 2002 Turbo there was option 554 which no one could find either.

    Suncoast Porsche said it was probably because of the many different options my car had -- that when they combine them there is a code to clarify the way the options are combined because otherwise you could not have both options at the same time.

  4. I just realized that I did not follow up. The carbon control valve is what needed to be replaced. Not a bad job, I went through the wheel well, but now wonder if you could pop out the headlight and get at it. It did take care of the howl. Funny, when I removed the old one it came out in two pieces. Wonder if it was cracked and I broke it removing it?

    I have a 2000 Boxster which has a howling noise from the fuel venting system. The PCA website has a few other people complaining about the same problem, but their advice is to see your dealer. Has anyone here figured out exactly what solenoid, vent, etc. is causing this? and how to cure it?
