  1. Ryan You have gotten a lot of great info from everyone else on this! I had the 490 option and when I added Harvey's rear speaker kit it really helped, but I was able to pick up a six channel Porsche amp for $20.00 on Ebay and when I got done with that installation, again thanks to Harvey for sending me the cable free of charge!, it sounded a LOT better. Keep watching ebay and other forums and when you will find a good buy on an amp - go for it. If you order the kit from Harvey ask for the cable for the amp right away and save the added expense. Roger
  2. I bought Harvey's as well and am very happy with it. You should keep your eyes open for a 6 channel amp. Harvey has the cable you need to hook that up too. The six channel amp combined with the speakers, was worth every penny! Roger Forland
  3. I protected a set of Turbo wheels by taping a couple layers of cardboard on the face of the wheel. Then shipped them by one of the UPS knockoff companys. But, like others have said - BUY THE INSURANCE - When the buyer got them they had been stacked up on a truck and two of them had damage to the faces. They buyer said the insurance took care of it. Roger
  4. This normally means that something is not secure and the alarm system is telling you to check it. Perhaps you have a sensor on the trunk or something not making the contact? Hope that helps? Roger
  5. Justin, I had to do the same thing on mine. Take a pen light at night and you will be able to look in the recess. You do need a LONG allen wrench like everyone else said, Roger
  6. I was told the boost hoses were improved starting with 2002. You could probably save your money on those. The F hose would be a good idea to replace if you are doing the divertors. Use the aftermarket silicon one. Roger
  7. JB, I agree it is probably an internal code. On my 2002 Turbo there was option 554 which no one could find either. Suncoast Porsche said it was probably because of the many different options my car had -- that when they combine them there is a code to clarify the way the options are combined because otherwise you could not have both options at the same time. Roger
  8. I just realized that I did not follow up. The carbon control valve is what needed to be replaced. Not a bad job, I went through the wheel well, but now wonder if you could pop out the headlight and get at it. It did take care of the howl. Funny, when I removed the old one it came out in two pieces. Wonder if it was cracked and I broke it removing it? Thanks for all the help guys, and let's hope this helps someone else fix theirs. Roger
  9. Thanks, Today I actually got frustrated and put a piece of tape over the vent hole behind the fuel door (when open) and no more noise. I was sure it was some kind of valve that was not closing properly. Roger
  10. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a 2000 Boxster which has a howling noise from the fuel venting system. The PCA website has a few other people complaining about the same problem, but their advice is to see your dealer. Has anyone here figured out exactly what solenoid, vent, etc. is causing this? and how to cure it? Thanks, Roger
  11. Take the headlight out and look inside. You will see a ball & socket arrangement for the adjuster. You will need to use something to force the ball back into the socket. It hard because you are working in confined space but it can be fixed! Good luck, it worked for me. Roger
