  1. Speaking of plugs, has anyone tried E3 plugs? I see them advertised a lot but I've never tried them. Comments?
  2. 100,496 miles on my 2000 C2. other than regular maintenance i've replaced the serpentine belt, the coolant tank and had the crank position sensor replaced. Doesnt use oil, still starts and runs about like new. This has been a **** good car.
  3. I have 2000 Carrera and the footwell light have stopped working. I've tried the switch in all 3 positions and they dont come on. The fuse assignment chart in the fuse box doesnt mention these lights. I thought maybe C3 but the power windows are on that fuse too and they work. Maybe A5 or E1 but they also connect to other devices that still work. So I checked all of the fuses and they all look good. I havent been able to check the bulbs yet but they should both go out at once. I'm assuming there are 2 bulbs down there. The center overhead light doesnt come on either. Does anybody know what fuse this would be? or any ideas what else this might be? thanks,
  4. i realize this is an old post but here's an FYI for others. i just had this problem with the driver's (left) door of my 2000 996. The mechanic replaced the door latch assembly - $495.
  5. ok thanks everybody. i just didnt want to remove it and then have to order another part. the DIY link helped Loren. i wasnt sure of the size of the allen wrench i needed. thanks
  6. Renntechers, I have a 2000 model 996. i bought a cartridge type oil filter elment for it that i bought online. It's what the www.automotion.com web site recommended when i entered the make & model. when i look at the filter thats on the car, it doesnt look like a cartidge type filter. it looks like a spin-on disosable filter. I'm attaching a photo. is this what the Porsche cartridge type filter looks like? I odnt want to take it off and then have to order another filter. thanks i attached the image
  7. thanks Loren, i dont know if i can scare up a porsche clun in this area. it ma have to wait until i take it to the delarship.
  8. I'm in rural Northcentral Arkansas, 100 miles North of Little Rock. pretty remote. thanks for the quick reply.
  9. The doors of my 996 dont automatially lock when i reach 5-10 MPH. My owners manual says this feature (Type 2 i think) can be turned on by a Porsche dealer. Can i do that myself? anybody know how? thanks
