The problem , when I drive my 987 S down the A38 (Dual carriageway) to work every morning and evening for 56 miles a day I'm constantly bugged by the fact that my steering wheel is not quite straight. The centre line of the porsche badge draws a line to about 3,600 rpm on the rev counter 4k rpm is straight... I notice this same thing on every road I drive on. I'm aware of camber, the A38 has drains on the outside (slow lane) so it cambers to the left. Yes when I release the wheel on my car on a straight bit of road the car will begin to drift to the left (as you would expect), yet to keep the car in a perfect straight line I must keep the wheel at 3.6-3.8k rpm which is pointing to the left. That's wrong I think. There is even a bit of the A38, towards Wall island where the camber changes and the drains are on the inside of the fast lane, along this bit of road my wheel is 'almost' straight, i.e. 3.9-4k rpm. I went to BMTR in birmingham 2 weeks ago to have a 4 wheel align, they told me there was nothing wrong with the car, everything was within tolerance, and looked at me like some kind of muppet who didn't understand camber and only drove on 1 road, anyway, not being convinced, I took my car to 'Centre Gravity' last weekend for a £300 road package alignment from Chris there. My geo is now bang on and setup for stability at speed (my main use of the car), and tyre life. Centre Gravity final measurements (L/R) 2/4 fuel, no driver ballast Camber: -0.12/-0.13 Cross Camber: +0.00 Tow: +0.04/+0.03 Total Toe: +0.06 Setback: -0.06 Castor: +6.42/+7.05 <<Only thing flagged in red (apparently it's not adjustable anyway and not to be worried about?? Steer Ahead: 0 Ride Heights (F/R) : 133mm/152mm (same both left and right side) I've got Michelin PS2's on the front and Bridgestone RE050 on the back, matched pairs which are wearing evenly, the backs with more wear on the outside than inside and the fronts with more wear on the inside than outside, but 'even' wear, i.e both sides are the same. The thing is after the setup was done and I test drove the car I STILL saw the problem described above, and still see it on a daily basis on my commute. Chris allowed me to drive his wifes boxster S (same year, similar spec only 18" wheels) to see if it was me, it was getting on into saturday evening, but I'm sure her car did exactly the same thing! What's going on? Am I crazy? Are all boxsters wheels misaligned? Is there something wrong with my shoulders / eyes... is my whole world on the p*ss...!! AAaaaaaa... I've half a mind to go back to Chris and ask him to setup the car with a slightly 'off centre' wheel so at least it's right to my perception...

I've an 05 987 with BOSE and a CDR24, but no PCM or Nav. The AudioPilot thing is bothering me, I have it turned on, but it seems to do strange things with the volume, not always increasing it like I'd expect when the noise level goes up on the main roads, and not reducing it when I stop at the lights! Sometimes I also notice the sound just drop out and then come back up (kinda like there's a loose connection or something, but I don't think there is). I've read that you can configure the sensitivity of the AudioPilot (I know I can just turn it off, but I'd like to get it working 100%!), but as I don't have the navigation system I don't have access to all the menus to configure it. Is it possible to do so using a laptop or something?

Anyone have the CDR24 manual in PDF for download? It's not listed on this site in downloads :(
