  1. HI guys looking for some help here to avoid a massive bill. I had a flat battery over Xmas and after jump starting the car I had the weirdest problem. Basically anything with a needle stopped working on my cluster. Everything else works including the electronic speedo. Car went to specialist who has full porsche Bosch diagnostics. error code was related to one of the PSU's in the dash showing only 2V they followed the fault process and confirmed the two 12V feeds to the dash are present at the plug at one point very briefly they came back on but apparently the fault wouldn't clear and after switching off ignition an on they went off again and have not come to life since!!! they downloaded and re- loaded the dash S/W still no joy. tried fuses even tried new battery still no Joy conclusion = buy new dash £1700 plus VAT!!!!!!!! plus 4 hrs labour messing about I wasn't keen on this so option 2 send cluster off to a specialist repairer - no joy apparently they cannot help option 3 2nd hand cluster and this is where I need the help hopefully form someone who has tried to do this. I have found a second hand unit with 27K miles from a 2006 C4S manual - the number is 997.641.117 20 D07 mine is a 2005 C2S Manual 997.641.117.33 D07 with 34K miles the 4S has same options inc. chrono pack. I have found somone who can correct the mileage for £150 I tried phoning porsche who were helpful but said the part number needs to be identical to be compatible - they couldn't help me I cannot find another 2nd hand part with an identical number in any breaker in the UK my specialist has no experience of trying this other than with brand new dash. Hoping someone can tell me if I can make the C4S part work - if I got it and plugged it in a) can i cause any damage! b) even if some items weren't functioning should the gauges work again? - thus proving the diagnosis is correct before getting a second mortgage and at least being able to use my car again Hoping someone can help! cheers Ian
