  1. Yes, the 16 Bit PCM 1 version is more powerfull and is updated with the newest roads and stuff. If the map on your 8 bit system works good enough and is okay updated I would keep it. Elsewhere it is a waste of money.

PS. The price in Europe is around 1700 Euro that includes a new 16 Bit CD-reader and calculator plus hole Europe nav cd´s

pcm1 8 bit has got a problem, last update 2001. Often roads are changing, and when you don`t hope the system takes wrong road, thats the real problem.

    Regards.

  2. Hi, I have a boxster '99 with pcm1, I want to update my system navigation to pcm2 but Porsche has told me its impossible for reasons optic fiber, I am not sure if this is correct, help me.

On the other hand I guess its possible update to pcm1 16bit, It looks to be more powerful than old 8 bit. is it worth? of which the update consists? cost?

    Best regards.

  3. Hi, My question is very easy, I hope you can help me.

I have a Porsche car equipped with becker navigation system pcm1, serial nº X10378xx. Well, I have just bought the last update sofware for Becker Traffic Pro high speed 3.0 and Becker DTM High Speed 2.0 in two cds Europe.

In my navigation system this software looks not working, why? both are Becker. How can I solve the problem?

    Regards.

  4. Hi, I have boxster owner manual in web pdf 2003, and my boxster is 1999.

I have read all book but I find any differences that I would like you tell me if its possible

    1) 2003 model, when you open the drivers door with key into contact a gong alarm sounds. 1999 NO...

    2) 2003 model, safety belt is not connected alarm sounds. 1999 no.

    3) 2003 model, there is a light indicator rear or lid trunk is opened but I dont find that light in my 1999 boxster!!!!!

It its possible I will sleep quietly....

    Regards.

  5. 1. The speed remains in memory until either cruise is turned off (with the swtich at the end of the stalk) or the ignition is turned off.

    2. You local Porsche dealer should be able to tell you where to find this.

    3. There is absolutely no performance gain from the Sport Exhaust.  It is 1200eur of audible and visual bling ;)

    1. My doubt is when 80kmh is in memory and we run 120kmh, we must:

    a) connect tampomat and run down to 80km/h and then acelerating,

    or

    B) set memory 120kmh directly.

    Regards.

  6. 1.  It has been so long since I used it I do not remember.  Check the owners manual if you have one, or check this board as there is one here.

    2.  No clue.

    3.  Porsche has never made a hp increase for the sport exhaust, and after over 5 years of Boxstering I have never seen anything that proves it does anything except make more noise.

    3. but a sport exhaust whose value 1200 eur is for making more noise only??
