  1. Mine is a 2005 and (with the clutch all the way in) also wont start from the "off" or "run" position.. I have to turn the key all the way left, then back to :start:... pretty darn embarrasing the first couple times I stalled.... till I figured it out. By the way, mine goes in storage too... what many in the US may not know is that in many provinces in Canada, they throw massive quantities of salt on the roads in winter (excellent for starting rust and corrosion).. the semi melted salt crystals are abrasive and corrosive enough, but its made even worse when they mix in sand or very tiny pebbles for traction..the salty slush and water gets into every tiny joint, and sticks to every surface and sits there eating away at the steel and aluminium, the abrasive nature isn't good for the paint job, . The slush and water spray from passing cars also contains all kinds of chemicals in addition to the salt content, from -40 windshield fluid, to various other auto fluids and grease and oil that drip off cars..and that doesn't do the cloth top any good either. That's why mine is a 6-month car, (or just 5 month if the weather turns) that has never seen snow.
  2. when you say "I ever used", do you mean "j'ai TOUJOURS utilise" ? It's just that I don't want to cause expensive damage by pluggin in to the power port if you are supposed to only use the cigarette lighter I didn't see anything in the manual about this type of charging, only a battery boost.
  3. well RFM, darned if your suggestion for the key didn't work...(ie it worked !) huzzah the remote now locks the doors! Thanks silly question, bbut I would rather not take chances with the expensive electronics... so.... I bought CTEK 33000 battery charger which is apparently the exact same as the Porsche charge-o-mat- and the silly question is...it should be plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet only, and not the power port. correct ? or does it matter? or?
  4. PS- just a thought, sitting in the car with doors closed and engine running, if i actuate the central lock button, do you think the would help reprogramme the key(s)?
  5. thanks for the suggestions.. I've locked and unlocked the door by the key a couple of times. but will try again... As Im not driving it, do you think merely starting and running it a few times will be equivalent to driving it a few times, or is it something that the computers will have to register things like wheels turning to generate (recover) informations?
  6. Car is in winter storage and I start it once a week and run it up to temp to charge the battery... except...... I left the lights on last week. When I came back battery was dead and had to open the front hood through the fuse box Charged the battery, and it starts fine, but the spoiler is up, and the indicator says PSM failure and the remote locking key wont operate the doors or the trunk What to do?
