  1. Yes, have checked everything else I can think of including vacuum pipes. Will let you know what transpires.
  2. My 1984 Carrera 3.2 suddenly will not idle. The engine still pulls strongly through all the gears but when you come to a stop the rev counter drops like a stone and the engine dies. It starts again easily but refuses to idle. After doing a bit of research on the net, I suspect it may be a problem with the idle air control valve, but with the ignition on I can feel a slight vibration when I touch the control valve, so it seems like it is still alive. If I disconnect the electrical plug to the valve the car starts fine and does idle but it hunts badly. If I reconnect the electrical plug and start the car the engine cuts out once again. I am hoping that someone can confirm my theory before I order a new control valve.
