  1. I replaced my stock seats with aftermarket seats without thorax airbags and the airbag light went on. I went to the dealer today for my one-year service and asked them to turn off the light. They said the light could not be turned off. Does anyone know if that is correct? I've seen other posts that suggested the light could be turned off. If the dealer is correct, is there some way of fooling the car into thinking the airbags are still there?
  2. I will investigate a Porsche patch. Not sure if I could find something that would sit flush enough. Like you said, I've had enough seat issues. As to the cost, the seats were $1500 per seat, plus I had to purchase various sliders and brackets. With tax, the total cost was a little over $4,300 for both of the seats and all of the supplies. Not cheap, but I had to replace the Sport Seats and I wanted something that would match the interior of the car. I tested out some Recaros and other seats, but I liked these the best in terms of looks and comfort. I did keep the stock seats. If I sell the car down the road, I was thinking that I may want to put them back in the car.
  3. I'm not thrilled about the logo either. They are stitched into the leather. I've thought about using black shoe polish or something else to make them blend in more. The seats are very comfortable.
  4. After struggling for a year without success to find a comfortable seating position in the Porsche Sport Seats, I elected to install Cobra Misano 30's in my 2008 C2. I'm not a big guy, but for me the shoulder bolsters on the Porsche seats were just too narrow. I ended up with a neck ache every time I drove the car long distances. I also didn't like the way the headrest leans so far forward relative to the seat backs. The Misano's were installed last week and so far I am very happy with the results. The shoulder bolsters are much wider and overall the seat holds me in place better during spirited driving. I also like the look of the seats with black leather, contrasting gray stitching and carbon fiber backs. The seats also have a release to tilt them forward so that I can get my kids into the back seat. I purchased the seats from Sube Sports in Huntington Beach CA, and had them professionally installed by BBI Autosports (also in Huntington Beach). I thought about installing the seats myself, but after seeing everything they had to do, I'm glad I opted for professional installation. The fit is tight, but they work well. I have plenty of headroom and the seats are adjustable forward and back. The guys at BBI were great and did a fantastic job. As expected, the airbag light went on after the install due to the removal of thorax airbags in the stock seats. I am going to the dealer later this week to see if they can reset the light. Attached are pictures of the end result.
  5. This morning when I started up my 2008 C2 coupe, the PCM screen displayed the following error message: "System Error: Navigation System, Amplifier Not Available." I've attempted to attach a picture that I took of the screen. Has anyone seen this error message before and/or know how to fix it? After this message was displayed, the Navigation System didn't work and I couldn't get any sound from the radio/cd player. The good news is that when I turned the car off and then on again, the PCM operated normally. However, I'm afraid that it could happen again.
  6. 70Sixter, I think you are right about the shoulder bolsters. They are making me hunch my shoulders which is causing the discomfort. I too may have to give up on the Sport Seats. Did you switch to Porsche standard seats or an aftermarket seat?
  7. Does anyone have any tips for finding a comfortable seating position with manual sport seats? I bought a 2008 C2 coupe with manual sport seats in August of last year and have not yet been able to find a comfortable seat position. I'm not a big guy (6' 190 lbs), but every time I drive the car for an extended period, I end up with a terrible neck ache. The problem is the headrest and the shoulder bolsters. I've started by adjusting the seat bottom so that I can comfortably operate the clutch. When I adjust the seat back so that I can reach the wheel, the shape of the seat and the fixed head rest wont let me sit with my neck straight. This is my first porsche, so maybe I'm just not used to the proper seating position. Any help would be appreciated. :)
  8. I have a 2008 C2 Coupe that had a similar rattles around the glove box area when I purchased the car in August of last year. After a couple of months, the rattles started driving me crazy. I took the car into the dealer. They weren't able to isolate the rattle, but they took apart the glove box, cup holders, chrono and other dashboard components and added felt cushions until the rattle went away. It's been two months and the rattle has not returned. Hope this helps
