:welcome: The more common problem with the horn is that it sometimes beeps without you pressing down on the horn pad because of some parts that wear out under the horn pad. As a result, some owners either pull out the fuse, disconnect the horn, or pull out the relay to avoid the annoyance of the horn going off when they hit a bump, etc... First check (and replace) the fuse (25 amp at position B3 in the main fuse panel). You'll probably find it's missing. If it's not the fuse, check the horn relay (position 10) in the main relay panel (last position all the way to the right, 4 rows up from the bottom, with the bottom row on the relay panel being empty of relays). You will find the main fuse panel and the main relay panel above the left footwell kick panel. Once you get the horn going, if you find it sounds when you hit bumps, etc., do a search here for the DIY fix. Regards, Maurice. Thanks, I think it is listed as "Nephrite" Green. Whoever was the original purchaser outfitted the car up in ways that I would have balked at (due to the price tag on the options), but am absolutely loving buying used. Seat crests, carbon fiber shifter and hand brake etc. -
I just bought a 2002 Boxster, black with a jade green leather interior (loved the color combo). I am in my late 30's and have never owned a remotely interesting or fast car in my life so this is quite the thrill. Speed limits have suddenly become much more meaningful and have started meaning less at the same time :o The car has about 54K miles and is in great condition. The only problem I have found is that the horn doesn't work???? I am going to check the most obvious culprit first (fuse). But was told by a Porsche enthusiast friend that this might be a common issue with Boxsters? First wanted to say hello and also ask if that is true about horn problems. Oh also, if anyone knows an excellent and reasonable (non dealer) Porsche mechanic in Cincinnati OH, I would LOVE a referral. Thanks
