  1. 05 Boxster S with 50k. The stock radio sometimes gets stuck on and I have to take out the fuse to turn it off. If I turn off the key it goes off but when I put the key in again it turns on no volume control, not able to change stations, can't change functions ie to cd to radio etc... nothing. If I pop the fuse out and back in it is all happy again with no security code required. Anyone have any ideas... This has happened about 6 times in the last year not too many but enough. Thanks, Andrew
  2. Sounds like you got off cheap. What's the "shoelace problem?" Cheap I guess could always be worse... The shoelace problem is explaned here with a fix and pics: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/18621-top-issue-any-idea-what-this-snapped-string-does/page__p__94962__hl__shoelace__fromsearch__1entry94962
  3. my 987S06 also don't have it under the front hood.. and it never been replaced.. Then the delivering dealer failed to install it. My 05 S has the sticker in the owner manual on the inside front cover. So you may want to check there too. The delivering dealer installed it in a place that will not get replaced or destroyed in an accident. Makes more sense I think. Attaching a paper sticker and expecting it to last forever... not the best idea porsche ever had.
  4. Took it in to get the tranny rebuilt and was told that it needed a new one. The mechanic got one for $3000 and another $500 to put it in. While he was in there he said the clutch had about 5K miles to go and he would do that installed for $1100 RMS for $80. Also got the shoelace problem fixed p/l $300 and a dollar size door ding $125. All total $5240 and the car never ran so good even better then when I bought it.
  5. Took it to a mechanic and he tried everything he could think of up to opening the transmission. Dog teeth it appears to be got a quote for about $2600. Thanks for the reply.
  6. Hello All, I have an '05 Boxster S with about 46K miles on it. The car was built at the Stuttgart plant. I had the AOS and water pump replaced last week and a day after getting it back the car began to pop out of second gear on deceleration under load like before taking a corner at speed. It seems to only happen on deceleration and occasionally when I lift after acceleration. No grinding when I shift up or down just the pop. It did progressively get worse over the last week. I have began just skipping second when I downshift. It still shifts up though all the gears fine no grinding and no pop even under hard acceleration. I saw many posting about this subject but not one that fit so before I go spend $3k I thought I would post. Any advice would be much appreciated... Thanks, Andrew
