  1. Hi, I'm changing my clutch on my 2003 C4S (with the RMS it seems, as a little oil is seeping out) and I've noticed the rubber coupling on the transmission end of the front cardan shaft is looking shabby and cracked. I can't seem to find a part number or source for this rubber coupling, does anyone have it? Alex.
  2. Great, I was hoping it would be straightforward. As this is my first clutch change I was planning to get a new set of jack stands and a transmission jack. The Harbor Freight jack looks good (http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/transmission-jacks/2000-lb-low-profile-transmission-jack-4075.html) if anyone has any experience? In particular though, do people have a recommended jack stand - flat top or shaped, and what kind of height? Alex.
  3. Thanks Lauren, I plan to do the work myself and will get the support bar to hold the engine. There are a couple of great online guides such as http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/996rms/rms1.php but I have not seen any guide for the AWD C4S. Does anyone have a guide or any details on the additional work over and above the regular two wheel drive? Alex
  4. Mentioned in another post that while shifting 1st-2nd onto freeway there was a bump and clutch went soft, now slipping in all gears but was able to limp home. Looking at the forums this seems like a pressure plate problem so planning my first clutch/pressure plate change. Looking at the photos from other posts I'm ready to take my time and give it a go but I haven't seen a post describing the extra work to get the AWD transmission out of the C4 vs. the C2. Any advice? I assume I can still do it without dropping the engine.. Thanks, Alex.
  5. My 2003 C4S 60k miles has exactly the same symptom - it would occasionally pop out of 2nd but nothing serious, until I was coming onto the freeway shifting from 1st to 2nd then suddenly a very soft clutch and slipping in all gears. Managed to limp home, wondering whether to take it back to the dealer or to just get it up on jacks and attempt the clutch/pressure plate replacement myself. I did think it was perhaps just a cracked pressure plate - but this has made me wonder if it needs the RMS as well. Thoughts anyone? Alex.
