  1. Hi there, Post number one, 3 weeks into 911 ownership! I've a 84,000 mile C2, which at tick-over gives out a very slight bearing rumble, turned out to be the alternator bearing. With the belt removed, there's obvious play in the pulley - it moves in and out by 1mm or so with a slight 'clunk'. The noise is only there at tick-over, and when revved above 1000rpm it disappears. The voltage is good at 14V with the engine running, and the temp sits at 82 all the time. Does anyone know if this is something that should be fixed immediately, or is it ok to drive as long as the sound doesn't get worse? Also, what do people recommend - remanufactured or new from Porsche? Thanks in advance. Cheers Haig
