  1. Greetings,

I bought a 2001 996TT a little while back and I finally got an old school NAV CD to test the PCM.  Really bizarre.  It loads the map, you can find way points (like the nearest airport) but when I try to get directions, it says "vehicle is off map".  But the latitude and longitude displayed in the the info is correct.

There is no map on the screen at all at this point (and there never is) just the purple direction arrow.

    Here is the version screen:

    PCM Software:

    PCM/IDIS V5.44

    Navigation Software:

    Ver.PONA629C

    Database:

    dca9/18602627

    I can't find anything that references PONA629C.... I see PONA642 & PONA628... but not a 629...

I don't drive it enough to merit a PCCM+ but having some form of map on the screen would be nice.

    Anyone have any thoughts here?

    Thanks,

    Jon

  2. Hey Renntech gang…

I recently bought a 2001 996TT and while working on it today, disconnected the battery.  When getting back up and running, the PCM1 asked for the PCM code, which I have from the original card.

I entered it, and then it asked for a NAV System code…

I tried the same code, but no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    SERIAL is SL0804 1 0126476

    CODE 5301

Is there another card for the second code?  The PO sent me a shot of some of the cards… sorry the pic is not very good….

    Thanks,

    Jon

  3. Thanks JFP.  I discovered that this may be unique to cabs (and targas).  I have a cab.  And the eyelet is to secure the wind deflector when not in use.  The eyelet is supposed to slide to the right with some force to remove it.  I have not tried it yet.

    Found it here:  https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/925348-how-do-you-remove-the-luggage-eyelet.html

    Which links to here:  https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/856811-does-anyone-know-what-this-trim-piece-is-called-and-where-i-can-find-a-replacement.html

Gonna try to remove it again later today and will report back for thoroughness.

    Cheers,

    Jon

  4. Hey,

I have a 06 C4S and have a faulty fuel sender....  need to access and some info says its under battery but believe its under the plastic panel ahead of battery in front trunk.  I can see a bunch of philips screws and an odd ~ 1"x2" bracket to secure something but am unsure how to remove this.  The plastic panel to access fuel pump housing is not accessible without removing this and I don't want to force it out unless I know how it removes...

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jon

  5. Hello, I have a unique opportunity to purchase a "new" 04 Cayenne S. It has everything I want as far as options except it does not have PCM.

I have done a minimal amount of searching on retrofitting the PCM and know that it is possible although, I don't think I have seen any success stories. I also understand that it is very expensive however, the deal I am getting on the new one could pay for the upgrade.

How can I look at the actual TSB listed on this board that describes installing the PCM?

    Thanks,

    Jon
