  1. Thanks, I eventually located a new pulley and tool (more like 200USD, though) It was a Bosch part - see pic.
  2. Thanks for the info. It helped me ask for the right parts, or I would have ended up with a pulley that did not fit. Local Porsche dealer is looking for used parts off an exchange, or will sell a replacement alternator with pulley for 1200 USD! Internet suppliers in UK only supply alternators without pulley, so I may have to purchase alternator and pulley and bolts, etc. seperately.
  3. Can anyone help me with parts needed for this problem? The re was a rubbing/rattling noise for about 5 mls (drove slowly) then a thump and silence. Alternator light came on but I managed to get home. Alternator pulley fell off with fittings. From photo can you tell if shaft is damaged and do I just need a new pulley, lock washer and bolt?
  4. 2001 Boxster 2.7 RHD Thanks to a great forum. You inspired me to service my own Boxster. Afterwards it would occasionally spew masses of smoke out the exhaust. Again, the forum led me to replace the AOS (which has cured problem). My small contribution is to suggest an aid to fitting the bellows with original spring clip. I tied the spring clip open with steel wire, the bellows slip on easy, then snip wire and clip springs tight - no strain on bellows or fingers. See attached file.
  5. 2001 Boxster 2.7 This might help. Got codes P1128 & P1130 today. Google search revealed that cause could be air leaks in inlet manifold after meter. Found join immediately after air filter box was loose due to corroded/broken clamp. Saved the cost of purchasing 2 oxygen sensors - although conclusion is a bit early as full flow test ;-) not carried out yet.
