  1. hey Guys,

Thought I post this here, since it's boxster related.. I was looking for 2 front tires for my BoxsterS

Since S-02's are discontinued,so i started looking for S-03's i found 4 for sale in craigslist, i'm picking up 2 today he has 2 more 225/40 ZR18, it's brand new.. i'm paying him $350, which is prob $120 off tirerack plus shipping.

no affiliation, email him if you want them, bay area, CA.. paulpham@gmail.com

  2. When I bought my S, I opted on an 18 inch wheels that was on another used car on the lot, it originally have 17 which is the OEM.. I drove the car today longer than normal, i dont like the humming sound on the 18's , is this tire wear? or should I go back to the 17's... what are the recommended tires on the 18's..? I dont have this noise when I test drove the car with teh 17's..reminds me of same sound on my cayenne S after, lowering and changing to 20's.. right now it has 265/35 18's S-02's. thanks for your help...

  3. Hey Guys,

Just picked up my 2002 Boxster S from Carlsen, thanks to Gary Quibelnan they certified it for me, has 51K miles..

I've been in the Cayenne Forum for awhile, decided to sell the Cayenne Turbo and bought

a B7 a4 2.0T Quatttro and my fav pcar Boxster :clapping:

So I will be asking a bunch of questions here, LOL

Also I just ordered that muffler from Germany, was persuaded by tool pants and eric's comments.

Do i need pss9 at all , or row030 for track? will springs will do the job..

    btw here are the pics

  4. Just bought 22x9.5 wheels for my New Cayenne S. Next purchace will be performance springs to narrow the gap. Which brand and size should I go without scraping tires?

    wheels:

22x9.5, offsett 55mm with 285/35/22 (not yet mounted)

    Choices of Performance Springs:

    Eibach: 1.2", 1.4", or 1.7"

    H&R: 1.3" or 1.6"

    Intrax: 2.0"

    Has anyone done this mod?

Which spring and size should I go for?

HR , i've had Techart on my old S which is basically Eibach, ride was very harsh :D

  5. I didnt buy the Porsche recommended tire, cause I couldnt find a tire rated high on snow, dry, wet etc. I bought the Geolander HT-S G052 255/55 18 M+S, it's amazing i'm close to 14 K miles, no sign of wear, 11K miles on my V6 and 3 K miles on my new S. I chose this over the Pirelli Ice and snow, higher rated on dry pavement and a true all season tire. I was looking for an XL,V rated tire when I bought my CS but I still see no comparison, Cayenne owners rated the Continental M+S poorly, I've been to tahoe 8 times on this Yokohama , 3 snow storms, it's awesome. The time I purchased these I was looking for a year round tire that's safe for my ski trips, I found it.

  6. Congrats on your purchase.

I had 12K miles on my V6 before I traded it for an S, but I didnt have any of these issues you mentioned aside from number 4 which was fixed by the dealer remapping DME i think it was W516. I had 18 inch turbo wheels, never added oil, and no issues with the R to D issue. I've seen post on the lost of oil on the turbo's dont have that issue on my S yet knock on wood.

Fabspeed for the v6 is now offered and was highly recommended. I inquired digi-tec for the ECU upgrade they said about 25 HP increase, they're in LA area, here's the site

http://www.digi-tec.us/myc_porsche.html, hope this helps I'm sure some of the other V6 owners can assist you, enjoy your V6, awesome in the snow, been to 2-3 snow storms in Tahoe

  7. Loren,

What do i need if I buy a Factory tow hitch from another Cayenne S?

Tow hitch prep only means , prepped for mounting? I'm askinig because I'm buying one of the rennlist members hitch that's being removed, so I can figure out what I need to order or what he could removed.

    thanks,,Alex
