  1. Hi, It's not the jacking of the car I'm so much concerned with as the resting on axle stands. Thanks for the reply
  2. Hi all, thinking of dropping my car in to have all 4 wheels refurbished after a slight misshap. My question is - when they remove all 4 wheels and leave the car on axle stands is there any chance of them damaging the axles or any powder coating that may exist or is this just common practice and there are allocated places for the stands to rest? Thanks
  3. Yeah I'm sure it's not the mirror thanks. I stripped the dash down completetly glovebox out, all heating ducts out and top defroster panel and A-Pillar trim out and if I tapped slightly on the dash in a certain position the noise could be heard. I un-did one of the top dash fastening screws and noticed the top dash flexed a little so I place a washer behind the fastening lug and threw a load of high density foam just under the plastic part of the trim (under the black plastic which is under the defroster panel). So far so good time will tell.
  4. Yep it has leather interior, the leather from what I remember was bonded to the plastic on the dash.
  5. Will do..I keep forgetting everytime I'm down the garage.
  6. Hi all, I have been trying to fix an intermitant buzz emanating from under the defroster panel for some time now. The car is under warranty but Porsches attempts at a fix have been at times nothing more than bodged attempts with clips being left off or dropped and left under the dash leaving me to fish them out, nobody takes as much care I think as an owner would, so here I am again trying to fix the buzz. I think it's related to the dash panel under the defroster panel resonating at a certain point when the car flexes and settles in a certain position. The black trim is the one the tweeter sits in, it looks to have a clip securing it and the dash to the bulkhead. Does anyone know if the trim should sit flush with the foan strip along the windscreen or can anyone help on how to get under the trim? Thanks
  7. I have two courtesy pinhole lights inside the the door handle panel, they seem to have gone off and no longer work. Just before they stoppped working the passenger window would not raise after it dropped the 1/2 inch when the door handle is pulled, until I open and shut door again. Anyone have this happen to them?
  8. Where can I get some prices on the X51 kit? would be interested to get this done at the same time as my exhaust upgrade $12,000 to $14,200 USD MSRP without installation labor. Not sure how much help but in the UK the cheapest I could find was 8.5K GBP ($13500) fitted by an OPC.
  9. Hi, I've searched but could not find a topic which spoke of nothing else but the difference in noise, what I'd like to know is will the PSE and headers provide any discernible difference in power? would an OPC change the headers as well or would they only do this as part of the X51 kit? I have a c4s tiptronic with sports chrono Thanks
  10. Please ignore post, my bad. missed a page went straight to p242 'Additional Brake Lights' didn't realise they were referring to the LED brake lights. It's all on p241. No wonder I couldn't find many posts on the subject - How dumb
  11. Took the car out today and the bulb warning light came on the instrument panel informing me that the left brake light had failed. I looked it up in the manual as I could not see any easy access and read that I had to take the car in to the OPC to have the bulb replaced. Is this something I could do myself? the car is a 57 C4s is t by any chance covered under warranty? if not how much could they charge for something like this? Thanks
  12. Excellent, thanks guys. I asked the OPC what they used, the spares guy showed me small container they charged almost $80 for.
  13. Try putting a small amount of Krytox grease in the seal (where the window comes in contact with it). Do a search here for "Convertible top squeaks and creaks". You will get a lot of information on how to remedy annoying noises Thanks is Krytox better than a silicon or teflon based grease?
