  1. The signal output to the OBDII is the correct MPH and is different than the signal received by the speedo in the dash.
  2. I have an 02 996 Cab w/Tiptronic that came with 18 inch wheels and 17 inch was an option. My speedometer reads several MPH fast and I'm wondering if there is a setting that designates 17 or 18 inch wheels. When I plug in an OBD2 scanner, the scanner gives the correct MPH which is different than the display in the dash. Any thoughts? Thanks
  3. I have Agency Power adjustable front end links on my '02 C2 Cab with the stock sway bar. How do I properly adjust the lenghth?
  4. Mine's not the anniversary 911. I'm trying to determine the right distance for C.
  5. Hi Loren, I am trying to replace my Carerra badge on the rear lid of my 2002 with a "911". Do you have measurements for that? Thanks,
  6. If I had to guess, I think it might have been orange juice or soda. Might that cause this problem?
  7. Thanks, but do you think sugar in my gas could cause this?
  8. The only thing done so far, was the three right side spark plugs were removed and one of the prongs on the #5 spark plug was bent. Coolant in oil too. Immediately I was told I need a new motor. I had my car towed to my guy and he's out for a couple weeks.
  9. No codes. Just ran rough and died. I restarted it it smoked a lot sand raw oil was coming out onne pipe
  10. My mechanic thinks someone put something in my gas that made my piston crack. What could do that?
  11. Can I replace my 3.6 in my 996w/Tiptronic with a 3.8 from a 997? I know Roock says he can, but which is better - rebuild the original 3.6 with bigger pistons, etc., or buy a 997 engine? Anyone with experience in this? I'm in San Francisco.
  12. At 90,000 miles my motor went on my 2002 996. #5 cylinder has coolant and oil has coolant too. I'd write it off if I hadn't replaced the Tiptronic less than 1,000 miles ago with a rebuilt one from Vertex ($3,500 plus $2,000 install), new Michelins ($1,200), new paint ($6,000). I'm trying to find someone in the San Francisco area. Any ideas? Flat Six Innovations is booked until April 2012. Roock sounds questionable. Suncoast wants a $15,500 for a reman from Porsche, but $17,000 for the core so I pay $32,000 until they approve my core and return all or part of the $17,000. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  13. Try Vertex in Miami. They also do overhauls. I believe they charge approx 9-10K for a 996 overhaul. 1-866-668-0660. Ask for Gilbert. They ship worldwide. I just bought a rebuilt Tiptronic from them! They don't have a 3.6 in stock. Does anyone know Instant- G? http://www.instant-g.com/index.html
