  1. Hello everyone. I have a 2008 GTS that my wife so lovingly backed into my Jeep. It completely destroyed the rear hatch, but that's the only damage. I was looking on Ebay at replacement hatches and found a bunch but all were listed as 2003-2006 models. The ones listed for my year are significantly more expensive. I have all the parts from mine to swap over all I really need is the base shell. So what is different on those years from my 2008?
  2. Yeah I just finished checking everything. I tightened every clamp and sprayed two cans of carb cleaner around to see if the engine RPM would change and nothing. I swear I hear a Vac leak but I tried every spot there is and nothing. And to top it off while I was under the car looking around I noticed my RMS is leaking  22,000 miles and this car has had a Wheel bearing, CEL, CV boots and now an RMS.
  3. Ok I'm going to go try one more time to see if I have a vacuum leak and then I guess I will be ordering a new MAF.
  4. Got that much but do you think a MAF would only throw one side out of whack?
  5. I did a search on P1126 well before I made this thread. What I don't get is everyone who is getting P1126 is also getting other codes with it and it's usually a MAF they replace and it's fixed. I can't find a single other person who is only getting the P1126 code and nothing else.
  6. My 01 Boxster S has been throwing a P1126 code for about 6 months now. I know this means that cylinders 4,5,6 are running lean and the DME has richened that side up as far as it can. I thought it was a bad AOS but I replaced it yesterday and took it for a drive and the CEL came back on again. I also noticed when I had the engine cover off and started it that there is a slight air sucking sound as soon as you crack the throttle open. Does every Boxster make that noise? Or should I be looking for a vacuum leak? If it's a vacuum leak where should I start my search?
  7. Thanks for the reply. Your website is actually where I went first and found out about the AOS. This is my first Porsche so it's a learning experience for sure!
  8. First off I'd like to say hello since I am new to this forum. I have a 2001 Boxster S 6 speed with 42,000 miles on it. I bought it last year with 22,000 miles so I have been doing a good bit of driving in it lately. Ok now onto my problem. I have done plenty of searches so I pretty much know what is going on but wanted to make sure. The car threw a CEL about three months ago with the code P1126 which I know means it's running lean on that side and the DME has richened it up all the way. I cleaned the MAF and it didn't help and as far as I know a MAF will through both codes for the left and right side of the engine correct? I also have "some" of the signs of a bad AOS. It has oil build up all around it and it seeping out of the intake tubes after the throttle body. I also have the whining noise at start up but it goes away after a minute or two. I removed the oil cap today with it running and it's sucking a lot of air in and the engine RPM's climb but it wasn't difficult to remove the cap. I have read that it is really hard to remove the cap if it's a bad AOS. So before I spend needless money what should I do? MAF or AOS? Thanks in advance! Edit: I should also add that I do not get any smoke on start up unless the car sits for a few weeks.
