  1. It very much depends on the type of roads that the car was used on. 74,000 Km is not really very high, and if it was on good surface motorway type roads then there is no reason to believe that the suspension is bad.

Is the car handling badly? Are there noises (clunking noises) comijng from the suspension as you drive?

I lost control in a curve, and I am looking for reasons...

What do your tires look like??? How do you mean lost control??? Was the road wet or maybe some oil on it, How fast were you going, did you ride the brakes hard while making the turn????

  2. I brought home my first Porsche, first Boxster last Thursday. It's a 2001 Boxster with Tip trans and Cruz Control. I was so excited about the car that while showing my wife how the steering wheel adjustment works I by mistake grabbed the Cruz Control stalk and snapped it right off.

Man I couldn't believe it I hope like HELL that's the last stupid thing I do in this car?????? well 401.00 later to fix it. The Dealer (Momentum Porsche) in Houston was pretty cool, it only took them 4hrs to return my car to me. I guess I should feel lucly.

P.S. I can't keep myself out of the car/do I sound like a newbie? :drive:

  3. Well after coming home with my first Boxster one day after my 20th Wedding Aniv

I have allready broken my new toy!!!!. While trying to adjust the steering wheel for my wife I grabed the cruise control lever thinking it was the lever for the steering wheel. I'm sure you all have figgured it out by now I broke the lever for the cruise control Duh.......... Does anybody know of a cheap way to get this fixed?????

Any part numbers you may have would be great. Do you feel this can be fixed as a DIY???? Or should I just bite the bullet and have the stealership fix it (375.00)

  4. Mike,

Thank you so very much for the Buying A Used Boxster Guide. I made the purchase today I bought my first Porsche Boxster, 2001 White with gray int and Automatic trans. It only has 31k miles purchase price 24500.00. Oh Ya it's to KOOL. It's not everyday that a man can wake up to his 20th Wedding Aniv a 16 Yr old Beautiful daughter and a Box-car!!!!!

  5. $2500! Wow. That is a lot of money! And most come with craftily worded exclusions.

My experience with after market waranties is mixed. I bought a used Jeep once with a Jeep Used warranty and two weeks later had a transmission failure that was fully covered. Other times it has been a complete waste.

But, $2500 on a $35,000 car. I don't think so. Check around and search the Internet for extended warranties before you spend that kind of dough.

    Captain oh my Captain,

2500 is a bit much, do you have any ideas???

    Mike
