I had to move the steering wheel to make space for the installation! The main box simply connects between the factory stereo and the speakers using standard ISO connectors. It contains its own amplifier for the music signal. The sound quality is excellent. You switch between the factory stereo and the music signal by pressing a button on the remote controller, which can also control volume/play/pause/skip forwards and backwards. Either source is muted by phone calls, which are heard through all the speakers. Again, call quality is excellent.

The installation is mostly hidden behind the PCM. I have the microphone clipped to the small sunvisor above the rearview mirror, with the wire hidden away behind the trim at the top of the windscreen and down the A-pillar. The lead for connecting Ipod/USB/Line in emerges from the centre console, but you could easily have it in the glovebox if you wanted. The small remote controller is wireless (powered by a button battery) and can be positioned anywhere, including on the steering wheel - I have mine on the roof console.

I have just installed a Parrot MKi9000 in my 2003 Cayenne S with PCM2 and no BOSE amplifier. The only problem was that I could not find a convenient source of switched power behind the dashboard. After a trawl of the internet I found this http://www.nexxia.co...es/IGNI-GEN.pdf available at http://www.nexxia.co...0Kit%20Adaptors. It connects to the unswitched power and earth wires in the Parrot wiring loom and provides a power source that is switched on and off by starting and stopping the engine. The installation was then straightforward plug-and-play and I now have high quality Bluetooth handsfree and Ipod/USB/line input all for £150 which is a lot less than a Dension Gateway or mObridge.
