  1. I have a 1999 C4 Cab 996. I am trying to determine what Tips I saw. The Tips I saw were funnel shaped. The exit was much larger than stock. It was not a circle next to a circle (like AurthurK’s Tips). Anybody have any ideas?
  2. My rubber piece is the part that is fixed to the window - the vertical part. I think that would be part number 1.
  3. I have a 1999 996 C4 Cab. The rubber part of the triangular windows has worn out to the point that it has gray fuzzies on it. Loren or anyone else who might know, can I do anything to make these 2 windows look like new or should I just replace them? If they should be replaced, could you please provide me with the part numbers? Thanks. T
  4. so, if I order the parts you listed for the back bumper, it will 100% fit on to my 1999 996 C4 Cab? Also, there do not seem to be any back rubber bumpers on this version. Do I need those or can I do without them? Personally, I like it better without the bumperettes.
  5. Will AuthurK's bumper fit a 1999 C4 Cab? - If it does, its very nice!!
  6. Check this out on http://forums.rennlist.com/. go to Rennlist Discussion Forums > Water Cooled Discussion Areas > 996 Forum > Turbo Rear Bumper on narrow body car ??? "Don W cape cod" on this thread put a turbo bumper on his narrow body car. The bumper flares backward about 1/2 inch. What do you think alter_schwede and others? I have a 99 cab. I would love to put this on my car but am concerned about the fit. Don't want it to look like a hack job.
  7. was wondering if there is a running thread or some type of post that we can all use to avoid unscrupulous repair shops and/or dealers in our local area? I have got some whoppers for my local Michigan Porsche owners.
  8. I agree with JFP, Justin will best Sunsets Prices. He did for me. No BS ing around. Just a good price and knowledgalbe too.
  9. What is the best way to wash a 996. What I am concerned about applys to all new cars and newly painted cars but should be useful to all anyhow. What I want to avoid are the swirl marks that occur over time when washing a car. (Mine is black and I can really see the marks) Since it will be painted soon, i want to avoid the marks from occurring again. so - what is the best "wash" method to use. Thanks
  10. I want to get the "911" emblem but is there a "C4" I can get with it or as part of one emblem? For instance, something that says "911 C4".
  11. Depends - What are you trying to do? - I live in Bloomfield. I can try to tell you where and where not to go depending on what you need done.
  12. I will need to repaint my car. Thought I would install a new front bumper and rear bumper. Any one have any experiences with the following... http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?makeid...e&spage=Bodykit Select the last two link on the left for the front and back bumpers
  13. I agree with that parking method however, it is just that type of parking that tends to p*i*s*s people off. I just try to park very far away from any entrance so there are no cars around. Just got unlucky this time though.
  14. My scratch is from the front all the way to the back. On both sides. Really terrible. The whole car has to be re-painted. Oh well. Is there a Black color that will be even Blacker than the original? Should I get additional clear coats? What should I do to make the car very nice now since I only want to do this paint job once. Thanks
  15. My 1999 996 Black Cab got keyed over the weekend. I will need to get it re-painted. Other than trying to find a great paint shop are there any other things I need to consider? Is there anything I need to ask the paint shop to make sure they do the job correctly.
  16. Thanks for all of your comments. It has helped me to reinforce my stance. I will demand that the shop pay for the difference. Fortunately I am a lawyer. I will do a little research on the law and see what I can do. I'll keep everyone abreast of whats going on.
  17. The reason why they will not cover the entire amount is because of depreciation. The insurance company is discounting the top 10% for every 10K miles on the car. The issue for me is do I want to spend the extra $1000 for OEM or will an aftermarket product be just as good. I'll keep you abreast of the situation. Thanks
  18. A shop put a hole in my cab top while replacing my suspension. They have agreed to fix it under their insurance. My question is should I get an aftermarket top which the insurance will cover the entire price for (about $2300) or should I get OEM Porsche (About $4000 of which I have to pay $1000). The trim shop tells me the tops are the same material and look. What I am concerned about is fit though. I’ve been assured I will like the end result. Anyone else have any experience with aftermarket tops? – Please let me know. I need to make a decision in the next few days. Tony
