  1. I had a partial front done on our Panamera. The wife hated it, because no matter how careful you are eventually the edges will become easy to see. Numerous times people would comment on the bad "scratches" on her car (black). This is not an issue if you do entire panels as the edges are mostly hidden. On my new C4S, I'm having the whole from clip done. As far as performance, it works as advertised. No issues with chips at all on the Panamera, and on a Cayenne TT with >105K miles, mostly crowded-highway miles, it still looks pretty good.
  2. Dunno, I think it depends more on what you are expecting and matching the right model to your expectations. With the extensive sub-divisions of the model line, you can find just about anything you want, from a soft chick-car cruiser to a pseudo race car. Pick the wrong one for your expectations and you will be disappointed. I just bought a 991 C4S MT to use as a daily driver. I test drove several different versions and settled on this as the best for my wants/needs in this vehicle. No way that I'm selling my 98 C2S though....nor do I want to use the 993 as a daily driver.
  3. It makes no difference that it is for the valvetrain. It is the same oil. Change both.
  4. Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow here. Very happy with them last winter and will be putting them on again soon.
  5. I recently had the PCM 2.1 in my 05 CTT replaced under CPO warranty. The new (maybe refurbished?) unit has the software updated to Version 4.1 Level C1. I was previously running Version 3.1 Level B with a DVD dated 08.2005. I still have the same map DVD (08.2005), as they only replaced the head unit. It works fine, although on the version screen (what you get when pressing the main and trip buttons) little red warning triangles are next to each line except for "Navigation." Nav system software is 00179412/5004. I have a few questions: 1) Anyone know why these little warning triangles are present? 2) More importantly, can I just buy an ebay OEM map DVD (like a MY08 08.2007) and pop it in and have it work? Or must I find the update CD as well to use the later maps? I can't figure this out from the TSBs TIA.
  6. I was just in my local dealer for service on my 996TT. They had 2008 997s advertised for ~$20K off sticker, including a C4S for $77K.
