  1. Wondering if i've got an issue or not...... In the past, all the 911's i've owned have had high oil pressure at start up (goes to 5, idle @ 3),,,,not a concern But lately when my oil temp hits 200/210/220, @ full throttle i'm ok and hitting 4-4.8. But at idle (750 RPM) my oil pressure sits at 0.75, just a bit under 1 Of all the cars i've had, the lowest i've idled at is 1. I've had this car for a long time, and i'm at 51,000 miles. I had an issue with oil pressure on the top end before but it ended up being a sending unit which was replaced about a year ago My 993 has over 60,000 miles and idles @ 1+ I'm wondering if i should be concerned. Any input would be appreciated. Car is a 2006 C4S Thanks!
  2. I have the Nav TV TookiBT , Sirius & Ipod in my current car and i'm really happy If you're only looking for BT & Ipod (no integrated Sat radio), the MoBridge & Dension are both good choices. I had MoBridge in my 05 C2S and was really happy w
  3. no, left it there and bought a seat protector with grip so the seat wouldn't slide fwd
  4. I have a 2006 C4S coupe and put a Britax Roundabout for my 2.5 year old. Fits perfectly, nice and snug (she weighs 30lbs)
  5. Found the right TCB with all the instructions....all good Love this site and all it's resources! j
  6. I have a 2006 C4S and I just bough the MY08 NAV/PCM update kit from Porsche (i really didn't need the map updates, but needed to update my PCM for another application) My question is can anyone confirm the order / process to update it properly, there were no instructions in the box and the TCB doesn't give clear indication on how, and to make matters worse, the TCB says the kit comes with 4 discs and I have 5 discs 1-North Amercia - Porsche Communication Management - S0006-0070-411-10.2004 (Mystery disc not listed in TCB) 2-PCM 2.1 Multimedia Update CD 1 - 000 043 205 46 002 3-PCM 2.1 Multimedia Update CD 2 - 000 043 205 46 003 4-PCM 2.1 Multimedia Update CD Nav MY08 - 000 044 901 40 5-PCM 2.1 DVD Navigation America - 997 044 901 51 / 612 I'm assuming, based on the TCB, the install is in the order they're listed.. 1-PCM Mult Update CD1 & CD2 2-PCM Mult Nav update NAV MY08 3-NAV DVD Not sure what to do with the mystery disc Thanks! J ...i just wanted a reality check before i did this as I am prone to making firmware upgrade mistakes :) Based on what
  7. 45,000 miles on my 2006 C4S & 53,000 miles on my 96 Targa an still going strong w
  8. Car is a 2006 C4S Coupe w/nav and no cd-changer Here's what I had done; NavTV-Sirius integratred unit: I LOVE IT, works great, signal is awesome and it's as good as stock. I can't believe i lasted so long with my little sportster cliped on my vent using FM Modulator. NavTV-Ipod connector: Installed in my center console and works great with my iPhone 3G One of the bonuses that came with the NavTv was an aux input and a USB input, AUX was routed to center console, USB is in the glove Tooki bluetooth : I was really worried about this one becuase i've tried many aftermarket BT's in my past 911's w/o success. As of now, with about 15 calls to base it on, it works great. People on the other end say they can hear me and i can hear them, even on the highways. My only complaint is I only get audio out of the passenger side speaker. From what i understand this is a limitation of the software version of my PCM. I have a friend w/an 08 w/the same Tooki module and get full audio out both speakers. That's my next mission,,,,,to figure out how to update it I also read you can stream over the BT w/tooki but i haven't tried it yet. All that to say there's nothing like having stuff integrated I'm very happy with my additions, and VERY happy with my installers j
  9. Just thought i would share this with those out there looking to get this done in the Toronto area. I wanted bluetooth/ipod & sirius in my car and looked at Dension, mObridge and NavTV/Tookie. Ended up goint with the third, and as I am happy with the solution, i'm even happier with my install, which is what this thread is about I first went to a (very) reputable and big installer downtown Toronto only to feel like I was being taken advantage of. First they started by telling me how difficult it would be to install the sat antenna under the wipers, and proceeded to tell me they would need special cables to do this and that. At the end of the conversation they quoted me 6.5 hours of work PLUS an extra $200 in 'special cables'. Needless to say I will never deal with these guys again. Well long story short, I called NavTV and they referred me to another installer named Exoticare and they not only did a phenomenal job, but it only took them an hour and a half, in at 12:30, out at 2 on a Saturday, no 'extra charges' or complex tales of why my car would be more different than every other 997 out there. Kudos to Andrew and Dave @ Exoticare!!!! j
  10. No PSE, but i had the "Sport" button function retained (you can option to have sport on all the time) I don't think this would affect the PSE
  11. If i remember correctly it was +34HP and +35TQ I haven't put it on a dyno so i really have no way of confirming if this is true, but there was a big enough difference that i noticed it Also, i'm not sure if this is related, but my fuel economy improved
  12. I've just ordered (and installed) the Softronic (through Vivid Racing) for my 2006 C4S and really like it. I was conisdering the GIAC route, but I like the fact that Softronic sends you the cable to do it yourself, it was easy and i did it in my garage myself. My local dealer wanted the car for a couple days to remove my ECU to get it flashed, and we're August now, end of summer and i'm not giving up my car for any reason:) At the end of the day between my Softronic, and my friends GIAC, I can't tell the difference, but that's me. J
  13. That's even better! Never thought of that Thanks for the idea!!!
  14. Now that i know that i have a connection I'll be on the hunt for a CD changer! J
  15. Took car to dealer today and the verdict was the oil sending unit was defective Hope this helps anyone else with this issue Also, (as i've seen this posted elsewhere) I had a really bad and LOUD creak coming out of the front drivers wheel which only appeared when the car was warmed up.....REALLY ANNOYING,and made me feel like the front wheel was going to fall off...well it turns out it was the inner tie rod and control arm My dealer was good and everything was covered under warranty, which is good, since my friend went to the other dealer in town with a similar tie rod issue and they made him pay for it as they said it was caused by normal wear and tear J
  16. This might be a stupid question but here it is....... There is an unconnected wire in the trunk, on the left under the mat. I was wondering if anyone knew what this was for. Doesn't seem to go anywhere or have any place to connect in to
  17. Oil change was done 500 miles ago. It's going in this Wed for it's regular maintenance, and this will be on the list of things to check Thanks! J
  18. Thanks, I finally got to look at the two sets, the mufflers are identical except the exit pipes where the tips attach are different. The S diameter is way bigger than the non S version
  19. Thanks, i will I was just curious, lately the two local dealers give me different answers, and this was the case again
  20. Will the exhaust from a C2 fit a C4S, or is there a difference between the 3.6 and 3.8 mufflers? Thanks! J
  21. Thanks I was hoping I could get away w/18's for winters but looks like I need to find 19's Appreciate the response J
  22. Would another set of 18's fit on the 997 C4S w/chrono or am i limited to 19's and up I have a chance to grab a friend's winters for free but they're 18's thanks again for the feedback J
  23. Thanks for the info, went out for a drive and tried it 993 is right on the ball The 997 however is a different story. At 65 deg (or cold start/drive) it hits 5 bar @ 5000rpm At 90 deg and steady 5000rpm it's 4.5 Again, even the slightest acceleration bring it down and when it steadies off, it goes back to 4.5. My car is going in for the 60k maint next week so i'll get them to check it out
  24. Can you put 18's on a car w/Sports Chrono? I have a set of Carrera III 18's off a C4 I was going to use for winters but I'm getting two different answers from the local Porsche dealers (one says no, the other says yes) I have a 2006 C4S Thanks! J
