  1. I have a 99 C2 with 19inch I-Forged Daytona's on it. The rears are 19x9. I currently run 295-30-19 in the rear but had a scraping problem. The car is also lowered with H&R springs (1.25 drop). The problem is the car will "bottom out" and the tires scrape inside the inner fender and cut into the sidewall of the tires. I was wondering if a 285 tire would help with this problem. I am in need of new tires and want to make the best choice, all opinions welcome. Thanks guys

  2. OK, I just replaced the window and motor (I found a great deal on both). It was working fine and now the window will not move. I can hear the motor trying to go and the window is in place firm (I can't move it with my hand). I am wondering if it is a possible fuse? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I do not have my manual and am having a hard time finding the fuse location of the driver widow. A quick response is needed PLEASE, I am in 30degree weather in NY with a window halfway down!!

  3. P1539 Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 2

    Actuator triggered, no active position.

    Possible causes:

    - Open circuit in triggering wire.

    - Open circuit in B+ supply.

    - Actuator faulty.

yea thats what i keep seeing on here. this car is my daily driver so i am just concerned about driving with it on until I get it checked out. From what I understand the actuator is only faulty if you feel a loss of power which I really can not feel at all.. Thanks again Loren for your speedy response..I hope your getting paid on here

  4. Sorry, that chart is wrong.

The offsets are all wrong - DO NOT use that chart.

For a MY1999 car Porsche approved wheels and offsets are spelled out in a TSB.

    Front offset is 50 - 52 mm.

    Rear offset is 63 - 65 mm.

No 19 inch wheels are approved by Porsche for use on any 996 series car.

Thanks for the help..So your telling me that I can not put 19's on this car at all?? WoW?!? Just ruined my day

  5. I am a brand new Porsche Owner so I am unsure of the fitment requirments. I have a 1999 996 C2 and the guy is "Unsure" if these will fit my car. The specs are as follows: Two 19x8.5" (with 45mm offset) and Two 19x10" (with 52mm offset) 5x130mm Lug Pattern.

Any input is greatly appreciated and if anyone knows the best springs or coilovers to use with 19inch wheels I would appreciate that information as well. Thanks guys

  6. Thanks a lot I really appreciate it.

Kind of a pain to get at. particularly the one on 1-3 side (drivers side). Plan on a couple of hours labor, sensor lists for $238 but you can get it much cheaper.

Here is Pelican's listing for the sensor:

and the o-ring which you shoud also replace.

I would also check with Sunset Porsche, their pricing is always good.

  7. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I recently purchased my dream car used (1999 911 Carrera 4) and the check engine light reads codes for the Cam position sensors. Does anyone have experience with these? Is it a tedious job (labor intensive). Or any recomendations for some parts over others. Thanks a lot, I look forward to your responses and really appreciate them.
